Factors that Affects Students Academic Performances in the New

Normal Setting of Education

CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

School, colleges and universities worth rely on their

student. Students are the most essential asset for any
educational institute. The social and economic development of
the country is directly linked with student academic
performance. The students’ performance (academic achievement)
plays an important role in producing the best quality
graduates who will become great leaders and manpower our
country thus responsible for the country’s economic and social
development. Student academic performance measurement has
received considerable attention in some previous research,
however in this time of the pandemic the learning environment,
strategies and difficulties are a lot more different than the
previous one. Therefor our research topic is to emphasize and
addressed this factors that hinders the students performances.
The factors that strongly influence on the student performance
that may result to the decreased literacy rate of our country.
As a student we researchers’ wants to addressed these
struggles we face in this new normal setting of education.

The main goal of the research is to put more attention to

student’s hardship in this new normal setting of education and
the comparison of new normal to face to face classes. It is to
point out the factors that affect their academic performances
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 4

that will be a guide to finding out the solutions to the

addressed problems. In this study we hope to help our fellow
students who are striving for the future despite of the
challenges in education.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

New normal education is where students learn and teachers

teach in a distance. School and government institutions have
come up with various solutions in order to deliver the same
amount of education students need in the midst of these raging
pandemic. That solution includes online classes, modular and
blended. However this new normal setting of education still
sparks up some problems in both the student and the teacher’s
side. There were different identified factors that affect the
students’ academic performances in this said new normal. These
factors include digital inequality, environmental factors,
social pressures and health issues. As well as the comparison
to the effectiveness of new normal to face to face classes and
the selected profile contributions that may help to the
improvement of the students’ academic performance.

The new normal setting of education has created various

problems; digital inequalities for not all students have an
equal access to stable network and good technology.
Environmental factors such as the sudden change in learning
environment, the academic pressure they need to face every
day, the things students’ responsibility in their home and the
health issues that come up in this new setting of education.
The research focuses on addressing the different factors that
may negatively affect a student’s academic performances in
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 5

this new normal setting of education as well as to find out

what contributions we can make to solve these problems.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the negative factors that

may rise in this new normal setting of education. As well as
to compare this new setting in terms of affectivity to the old
face to face classes. Lastly is the contribution the students,
school, parents, and teachers can make to solve the addressed
problem.

Specifically it seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What are the different factors that affect student’s

academic performance in the new normal setting of education?
1.1 Internet connection and digital availability.
1.2 Environmental factors.
1.3 Pressures.
1.4 Health issues.
2. Is this labelled New Norm in education as effective
as face to face classes?
3. What can the selected profiles contribute to an
improvement in the academic performance of the students in the
new normal setting of education?
3.1 Students
3.2 School
3.3 Parents
3.4 Teachers

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Theoretical framework aims to present related theories

and principles to the topic factors that may affect students’
performances in this new normal setting of education.
Including the tackling to the effectiveness of the new normal
to the old normal face to face as well as the contributors
contribution to the improvement of the students’ performances.

(Camella Rhone 2018) research on learning dysfunction,

disability and diversity as the new normal in education
reform, tackles about the new normal learning needs of the
special students that aims to policy makers to recognize that
the historically comfortable education environment is
changing. Cognitive, behavioral, and social learning theories
provide a framework for sorting and discussing interventions
with students, and for identifying and analyzing intervention
types as general (normal) or special (not normal) education
students. This theory focuses more on the special needs of the
special students then topics were narrowed down to a specific
subject. In contrast to (E.M Onyema, Dr. N.C. Eucheria, Dr.
F.A. Obafemi, S. Sen, F.G. Antonye, Dr. A Sharma and A.O.
Alsayed 2020) theory which tackle a whole general subject.

Researchers (E.M Onyema, Dr. N.C. Eucheria, Dr. F.A.

Obafemi, S. Sen, F.G. Antonye, Dr. A Sharma and A.O. Alsayed
2020) used social learning theories to investigate the impact
of COVID-19 on education. Data were collected through
structured questionnaires administered to 200 respondents that
consist of teachers, students, parents, and policy makers
selected from different countries. Online education was
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 7

hindered by poor infrastructures including, network, power,

inaccessibility and unavailability issues and poor digital
skills. The study underscores the damaging effects of COVID-19
on education sector and the need for all educational
institutions, educators, and learners to adopt technology, and
improve their digital skills in line with the emerging global
trends and realities in education.

In our study the social learning theory of (E.M Onyema,

Dr. N.C. Eucheria, Dr. F.A. Obafemi, S. Sen, F.G. Antonye, Dr.
A Sharma and A.O. Alsayed 2020) is the more relevant in terms
of the aim of our study. They emphasize the negative impacts
of the pandemic to the education of the students making it
more related to our research study because our study also aims
to emphasize the structures that hinder the students’ academic
performances in this new setting of education. In order to
addressed, seeks comparison and come up with solutions.

After finding out about the study in theory of social lesrning in the learning in the concept of
the education during a raging pandemic the researchers found out that there really are a lot
factors that hinders the students capability to study at full potential. Based on the theory
alone we can sway that face to face classes are more effective. However as what the
research aims we can find out along the way what we can do to improve our performance
and make use of this pandemic as an advantage in improving our level of education.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 9

ASSUMPTIONS AMD HYPOTHESIS

Assumptions
This study is conducted based on the following
assumptions:

1. That the new normal is more difficult and has more

disadvantages than the face to face classes.
2. That some roles (student, parents, teacher and school)
will serve as a contributor to improve the students’
performance in class.

HYPOTHESIS

Primarily this study has the following hypothesis:

There are different factors that are affecting the

students’ performances in this time of the pandemic. This new
normal mode of education gave birth to a lot of obstacles that
hinder students’ full potential academically. Digital
inequality for not all students can connect to the web and
participate in online classes and activities well.
Environmental factors is also proven to be a hinder this
includes; place, weather, demographic and topography of the
learning environment. Pressure to achieve great from parents,
friends, family and the people around the student. Health
issues that may arise from continuous exposure to electronics
unhealthy eating and sleeping habits due to online classes.
The given data were all proof that face to face classes is
more effective, healthy and less difficult. Since we have no
choice but to continue this new normal we can only help
ourselves. Students may improve their performance because of
themselves with the use of time management. The teachers and
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 10

the school can lessen the students’ burden by reducing the

amount of works and giving weekdays as a free day. Parents are
a big benefactor to improvement of a student’s performance
with constant encouragement and belief we can pass through
this new normal just as fine.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The general purpose of the study is to emphasize the

different negative factors of the new normal mode of
education, to prove that face to face is more effective and
efficient and lastly is to prove that we can all do something
to lessen the burden and help the students’ improve. Suppose
that the subject is in general therefor randomly selected
students from the Philippines only will be given the chance to
answer the questions. However questions will not be
necessarily in need an answer for the scope of the study is up
to the given scope of the proctor only.

Given the fact that this research were conducted during

the new normal in other words in the midst of the pandemic,
the files, records, data and information were all computerized
gathered online. However accessibility of the study is given
to the subject teacher only and the group who conducted the
research. The subject teacher may decide whether she wants the
research to be accessible to others or not.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 11

The limitation in pursuing our research study on the

performance of students under the new normal setting of
education lies on the lack of verbal communication among the
members in our group. First, there is the difficulty to gather
the team so that we could share ideas and construct concepts.
Due to the pandemic, we cannot manage to do this. Second, some
of the team members are hindered by the responsibilities being
assigned to them at home. Also, the pressure on how to beat
the deadline in our other subjects has added to our challenges
in fulfilling the task at hand. The slow internet connection
has discouraged our interest in joining activity feedbacks and
updates on group chat. In summary we cannot perform anymore
our normal way of doing a research just like before the
pandemic hits.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Social significance- The study may emphasize the struggles of

the students’ so that people will realize how hard it is to be
a student and then maybe they will expect less from them.

Students- They will realize that what they are being through
is completely normal thus will inspire them to continue
striving and apply what they have learned in the research.

Parents- The study aims to reach the parents that education in

these crucial times is harder than what it seems therefore
expect less from their children and support them along the
journey.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 12

Teachers- Since teachers already understand the struggles in

education they then be more inspired and have more patience in
teaching and creating future professionals.

School- Understanding the aims of the research will make the

school be more understanding of the students providing better
education and earning more positive feedbacks.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
CONCEPTUAL DEFINITION

Digital Inequality- a comparative perspective of social and

information inequality to more advantage people regarding
access, availability and quality to technologies and the
disadvantage one.

New Normal- a term that states to which an economy, society,

institution etc. settles or adopt the new living following a
crisis, the research use this term in the context of education
which is the main topic of the study.

Environmental Factors- include temperature, food, pollutants,

population density, sound, light, and parasites or everything
around the environment that can be a factor or contributor
onto something.

OPERATIONAL DEFINITION

Pressure- is formally defined as an experience in which a

student is burdened by the demands of time and energy to
achieve specific academic goals.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 13

Hinder- create difficulties for (someone or something),

resulting in delay or obstruction.

Pandemic- defined as an epidemic occurring worldwide, or over

a very wide area, crossing international boundaries and
usually affecting a large number of people.

Factors- circumstance, fact, or influence that contributes to

a result or outcome.

Performance- the action or process of carrying out or

accomplishing a action, task, or function.

Addressed- put direct attention to or acknowledge an issue,

situation or circumstances.

Proctor- also called supervisor/ monitor, one appointed to

supervised students.

DIGITAL INEQUALITY IN COMMUNICATION DURING A TIME OF PHYSICAL

DISTANCING: THE CASE OF COVID-19
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 14

Authors: Nguyen M.H., Hargittai E. and Marler W.

Link: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chb.2021.106717

The journal revealed the turn of people into digital

communication to replace in-person interactions as well as the
persisting digital inequality which suggests that not everyone
especially the students will be equally able to communicate
effectively during this public health crisis. Researchers
including Nguyen M.H., Hargittai E. and Marler W. (2021)
conducted a online survey that serves the purpose of study to
examine who is more likely to increase and to decrease digital
communication during the COVID-19 pandemic. With 2,925 adults
and youth (students) during the early months of the
Coronavirus pandemic in 2020 (April 4-8, N = 1,374; May 4-9, N
= 1,551). Researchers including Nguyen M.H., Hargittai E. and
Marler W. analysed how socio-demographics, living
arrangements, and internet experiences and skills relate to
increases and decreases in various digital communication
methods.

According to researchers Nguyen M.H., Hargittai E. and

Marler W. (2021) socio-demographics and living arrangement
relate to internet experiences and skills which showed that
those with existing social and digital privilege fared better
in maintaining or increasing levels of digital communication.
Researchers found that, people with greater existing social
and digital privilege had better chances of increasing their
digital communication and lesser chances of decreasing such
communication. Researchers also found that marginalized groups
may be at greater risk of social disconnection when
opportunities for in-person interactions are severely limited.
Researcher also found gender as an influencer that says that
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 15

women were more likely to increase their communication with

family and friends outside the household than were men across
several digital communication methods, with men only more
likely to have increased communication by online games.

The journal emphasizes the notion that not everyone could

have the privilege to stay in contact during physical
distancing. With the help of the internet and surveying online
researchers Nguyen M.H., Hargittai E. and Marler W. (2021)
identified factors that lead to digital inequality. Inequality
emerging between people who are more and less privileged in
their socioeconomic status and internet skills and
experiences. That also applies to the students who are more
and less privileged in their socioeconomic status and internet
skills and experiences. Digital communication is needed in
online class so students who are less privilege can add up the
burden of digital disconnection. This literature review
connects to our research for digital inequality is one of the
factors that affect the academic performances of students in
the new normal setting of education.

THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC THROUGH THE LENS OF EDUCATION IN THE

PHILIPPINES: THE NEW NORMAL

Author: Jose Z. Tria

Link: https://doi.org/10.30935/ijpdll/8311

The article presents opportunities for responding issues,

problems and trends that are currently arising and will arise
in the future due to COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of
education in the Philippines – the new educational norm. The
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 16

author (Jose Z. Tria) has a keen interest in the current and

future trends in the new normal education. According to
Karalis (2020), what is worth studying after returning to
normality, are the implications that have arisen for the day
after, that is, what adjustments need to be made, the extent
of the situation and to define the basic dimensions of
education and learning in formal education systems and
organizations amid educational disruptions.

The article provides ideas on what to do or the plans

after the pandemic end and we continue face to face classes.
The plan includes; wearing of face masks and physical
distancing, strengthening online learning platforms,
strengthening research and development in health and program
creation and health integration. The article made by Jose Z.
Tria highlights policy implications, strategies and issues
that will arise in the new normal education, particularly in
the Philippines. The article will serve as a reference for
future studies related to responding COVID-19 crisis in the
educational sector, particularly in the Philippine context.
Future studies are recommended such as planning and
implementation strategy, assessing online learning systems to
schools, a survey on online platforms, project proposals and
capstone projects, program creation, community assessment,
revision of curricula, development of instructional materials
and many more.

EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF LEARNING ENVIRONMENT ON STUDENT’S

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN NIGERIA

Author: Usman, Yunusa Dangara, Madudili and Chinyere Geraldine

Link: https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/ED602097.pdf
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 17

There is no misgiving that student’s high-quality academic

performance and outcomes is connected to the nature of
learning environment and the available useful facilities.
Shamaki, (2015) conducted a study to determine the influence
of learning environment on students’ academic achievement at
senior secondary school level in Yobe state, Nigeria and found
a significant difference between the mean performance of
students taught in an ideal learning environment and that of
students taught in a dull learning environment. Adamu (2015)
examined the impact of learning environment on the Performance
of Students in public secondary schools in Taraba State,
Nigeria and the findings revealed a significant difference in
the performances of the two groups (Experimental and Control)
implying that a classroom building; class with adequate
furniture; class with small class population and the use of
instructional materials has positive impact on the performance
of students in junior Secondary schools.

The point of the research is that; Student educational

attainment is determined by the idealness of the learning
environment. Classroom building with adequate furniture, small
class population and the use of instructional materials has
positive impact on the performance. Students of a school with
adequate facilities, good teachers and favourable environment
perform better than those from schools with fewer facilities,
unqualified teachers and unfavourable environment. The more
enriched the learning environments is, the greater and more
widespread are the benefits for academic performance and other
student outcomes. School climate, discipline and physical
facilities have significant influence on academic achievement
of students. Environmental factors (appropriate colouring,
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 18

lighting of educational environment and schools’ open space)

have impact on learning and academic achievement of students.

The studies reviewed all revealed a noteworthy

correlation between the learning environment and student’s
academic achievement in the education system in Nigeria and
elsewhere. This study is connected to our research because in
this new normal the sudden big change in the learning
environment of the students created a big impact on their
academic performances.

PARENTAL PRESSURE AND STUDENTS SELF-EFFICACY

Authors: JC. Moneva and KA. Moncado

Link:
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/339096621_Parental_Pr
essure_and_Students_Self-Efficacy_1

A research conducted in Jagobiao National High School on

September 2019 by researchers JC. Moneva and KA. Moncado
(2019). The research revolves around a notion and results that
parents hold high expectations from the students in terms of
academic outcomes. While it was revealed also that the parents
had a low attention in which they inconsistently go to school
to check their children’s school grades and performance. On
the other hand, in terms of student’s self-efficacy, they
reported that they can always handle in solving difficult
problems if they try hard enough. However, they do not have
enough self-efficacy when it comes to dealing with unexpected
events. The survey was conducted in Jagobiao National High
School on September 2019 with 245 students as participants.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 19

Researchers JC. Moneva and KA. Moncado (2019) design was

quantitative descriptive correlation that seeks the relation
between parental pressure and student’s self-efficacy. The
data was gathered through the use of scoring instrument which
helped the researcher in the data interpretation. The
researcher used rating scale instrument for the collection of
data.

Researchers JC. Moneva and KA. Moncado (2019) found that

Parents have too much anticipation from their children in
academic performance. Thus, parents’ pressure towards their
children is not so impending if they support them emotionally.
Parents who assist their children in terms of school
activities, their children will excel in school.
Significantly, they have the chance in inspiring their
children in terms of academic achievement. Parental pressure
is highly the reason why students experience academic stress.
Parents pressurized their children in order to attain
desirable grades without thinking the abilities of their
children. Moreover, students have the fear of discouraging
their parents in getting lower grades. Some parents compared
their children to the other people with high achievements. Too
much pressure coming from the parents to gain high achievement
would result to anxiety. It is suggested that the parents
should know that the pressure they are injected to their
children would lead to high anxiety and social isolation. In
the same manner, parents’ pressure their children in academic
activities creates stressful life of the students. When the
students feel high level of stress because of grades, they
will hardly learn. Consequently, they are obliged to do some
preparations for their children in aiming academic success.
They are also the ones who install good values to their
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 20

children in preparation for school. When the parents provided

all the needs of their children, they will gain the full
attention of their child when it comes to giving advices.

On one hand, student’s personal drive and learning process

can be identified through their level of self-efficacy. During
past two decades, self-efficacy is an effective predictor of
student’s motivation and learning. Having a perceived self-
efficacy will help humans to achieve success and it will help
them personally in various ways. Since the students have a
high level of self-efficacy, they are more confident and have
a majority of positive attitude toward their future
career.Student’s self-efficacy plays an important role as
predictors of academic achievement. In any case, people who
have high level of self-efficacy often feel that they have
enough motivation that allow them to choose a tasks where they
put effort unto it. They are able to perform well, take part
of activities and putting more effort in the challenging task
to achieve the goal.

Students having a high level of self-efficacy have the

belief that they are free and they control their own
behaviours. However, students with lower self-efficacy
believed that intelligence do not have a role in improvement.
Students may boost their self-efficacy by listening to the
experiences of the former student who have been successful.
Students who failed to do a task successfully, they believe
that it is the product to a lack of effort. The individuals in
the immediate community of the students should strengthen the
academic success of the students. In connection, to those
parents who actively join a program with their child has to do
with the students’ academic success in a manner that parents
have the chance to reflect the previous performance of their
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 21

child in the present. Parents have an important role in

encouraging their child to do so in every activity they are
into. Parent’s desire towards their children has a significant
input on student’s belief that they can do a task on their
own.

SLEEP INSUFFICIENCY, SLEEP HEALTH PROBLEMS AND PERFORMANCE IN

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Authors: X. Ming, R. Koransky, V. Kang, S. Buchman, C.E.

Sarris and G.C. Wagner

Link: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22084618/

According to X. Ming, R. Koransky, V. Kang, S. Buchman,

C.E. Sarris and G.C. Wagner students with a sleep length of
less than 7 hours on both weekdays and weekends exhibited
poorer performance, while those who made up this sleep loss on
weekends did not. The total number of poor sleeps factors in
an individual also correlated with poor school performance.
Researchers conducted a survey at 1941 participants, 1054
(54.3%) were female and 860 (44.3%) were male students, and 27
(1.4%) students did not report their genders at grade 10-12
students in 2011.

Researchers X. Ming, R. Koransky, V. Kang, S. Buchman, C.E.

Sarris and G.C. Wagner (2011) found the association of poor
school performance in high school students with multiple sleep
risk factors. In addition, this study identified healthy sleep
habits that were not associated with poor performance but
rather offset the deleterious effects of sleep risk factors.
Finally school start time was examined for its contribution to
sleep health problems.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 22

Researchers also shows the shows the following important

trends among the participating high school students: (1) a
correlation between the number of poor sleep risk factors and
school performance; (2) an association of earlier start time
with poor sleep quality and quantity; (3) a forward shift of
sleep/wake cycles towards earlier rising time during weekdays;
(4) reduced sleep quantity on weekdays; (5) poor sleep
quality, especially during weekdays; (6) an association of
reduced sleep quantity and/or quality with poor school
performance; (7) the observation that students who compensated
for shortened weekday sleep times by sleeping longer on
weekends were less likely to have school performance deficits.

Researchers found exact consequences of sleep health

problems are difficult to quantify. It is now widely accepted
that sleep deprivation is associated with reduced alertness
and poor performance,5–7,17 and these effects are exacerbated
by a superimposed circadian disadvantage.18 In the present
study, those students who did not make up for their weekday
sleep loss on weekends, or who had one or more sleep health
problems, self-reported poorer school performance. It is also
important to point out that multiple sleep health risk factors
within the same subjects were more likely to result in reports
of poor school performance. An equally important finding of
this study is that short sleep duration on weekdays did not
compromise school performance, while chronic sleep deprivation
on weekdays and weekends was detrimental. Although school
performance is determined by many factors, this study suggests
that adequate sleep is important to maximize one’s potential
for better performance.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 23

In summary the study points out some important details

like. High school students suffer from insufficient sleep
during school days. Sleep health problems are prevalent among
high school students. Poor sleep, especially chronic and
severe, can impact performance; catching-up sleep during
weekends may help to avoid the adverse effects. Sleep health
education should be a part of high school curriculum to
increase awareness. Delayed high school start times could be
beneficial for adolescent health.

CHAPERTER III

METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

This part will discussed what type of research method the

researchers used in conducting their study. Also includes the
step by step procedure on why? How and in what way the
researchers conduct their research.

The type of research method that was used in conducting

the research is qualitative research. Since the time limit and
the current situation of the world right now is being a hinder
to conducting the study at pull potential. Researchers
observation and experience themselves is the key and the main
reason of conducting this research study. Interviews and
surveys were not yet accomplished due to the restriction rules
implied by the proctor.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 24

The first step in conducting this research is the

observation of the researchers about the current educational
status around them. This is also the reason why the
researchers pushed through and conducted this researcher. The
next step in conducting this research is the data gathering,
which made it easier since almost all of us is stuck in the
virtual world because there are many restrictions in the
outside world. We gathered the possible problems that students
may experience in this new normal. The result is we came up
with four major problems the digital inequality, environmental
factors, health issues and social pressure. After gathering
the data we ten came up with another questions wanting t be
answered. Since we have experience face to face and new normal
classes now we want to know where is more effective between
the two. The last step is of course provide a possible
solution to the given problem, we found out that problems
regarding academic performance can also be solved by the
subject itself with proper application of the study with the
help of people around him/her.

SOURCES OF DATA

The part will contain the sources of information’s

regarding the subject and the sampling technique the
researchers use in conducting the research. Sources of data
will focus on the population entity and their information to
provide a valid subject for the research study.

Respondents were chosen by the probability sampling-

simple random sampling where researchers chose individual
respondents randomly since each individual has the same
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 25

probability of being chosen. Respondents are supposed to be

all students from different parts of the country
(Philippines). The population is indefinite for the
respondents is still unidentified for the research questions
is still remained unanswered, due to the restrictions made by
the proctor.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

This part of the study will present how the used data in
the study were collected. Considering the current situation of
the country and the educational institutions, data gathering
procedure is expected to be more different than the normal way
of gathering a data from where everything cannot be hindered
by the pandemic.

When the topic is chosen the first step the researchers

made after that is identify the problems that will be the
focus of the study. The problems will be the central idea and
their answers will be the solution and the end of the study.
After the problems were identified the next step is to gather
data of the related review of literature (chapter II) to have
more knowledge or understanding of the topic. The rrl gave the
researchers more view and wider perception about the topic.
After the rrl the researcher started the research making
process. Analysing the gathered data and identifying the
possible respondents to the research study. This is where the
data gathering procedure will end, for the research is only up
to chapter 3 data is limited the respondents, result and
variables cannot be counted nor stated. All in all data
gathering procedure were all from the web and the experience
or observation of the researchers’ environment.
AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 26

DATA ANALYSIS

This part contains information on how the gathered data

were presented and analysed. However due to the time limit and
the restrictions in the study data analysis cannot be
performed for there is no gathered data from the respondents.
On the other hand we can present how researchers supposed to
execute it if the situation is different.

Suppose to be gathered data is planned to be presented

analysed through tables, graphs and charts. Graph to identify
what percentage of difficulty students experience the
different negative factors that affected their academic
performance. Table to represent the number of respondents and
chart to identify how new normal became more difficult than
the face to face classes to present comparison between the
two.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT

This part of the study is not possible to be performed,

present or identified. The statistical method cannot be
identified for respondents and analysing of data is also
unmentioned. Supposed to be the identifying of respondents is
random therefor analysing of data is expected to be not exact.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The supposed to be type of research instrument that was

used is conducting the research is interview form on the
random chosen individuals.
