Filipinos are known as sociable and friendly. The use of internet is part of their daily lives. They love
making connections and jump at any opportunity to do so. Mostly, they are emotional, very expressive
and curious that is why Filipinos mostly rely on social media- they provide platforms for self-expression
while making connections at the same time. Social media provides easy channels to feed curiosity and
voyeurism where one can be in the know by lurking on social media and seeing the goings on through
people’s posts.

When it comes to IT trends, there are two major trends that are seen in the industry sector in the
Philippines—automation and the application of Internet of Things (IoT), hence the introduction of smart
industries. In this generation, we are born already in an era wherein the use of electronic devices is a
must in order for you to easily communicate with other people especially that there is a pandemic
wherein the use of electronic device is one of the things that will help you to survive this situation. Since
technology is important and in-demand, more innovation happens, the market value continue to grow
and many companies are actively exploring technology solutions, in order to drive business efficiencies,
improve services and ensure security.

When it comes to automation, this helps many companies not just in the Philippines but worldwide,
achieve greater productivity among its employees by using computers and software programs to do the
tasks. In business, changes must be embraced just like the use of technology in their processes and
operations to become more relevant to new environment and next generation of workforce. This shows
that when it comes to either business or school, technologies have a huge impact on everyone since it
allows us to live a relatively easy life with the usage of current technology. Modern technology is now
used and followed not only in the Philippines, but all throughout the world since it's simple to use, quick,
and effective. With the pandemic right now, many workers are doing the so-called “work from home”
and this proves to us that if many businesses and companies here in the Philippines didn’t use
technologies and produce many innovations, every one of us suffers especially the business and the
employees.

Many Filipinos during this pandemic tend to use social media apps for their businesses just like doing
live selling and promoting and selling any products such as ukay-ukay, foods and etc. With this, mostly
Filipinos right now use online banking for them to pay their purchases online. Filipinos rely on their
internet connection so that they can easily deposit, can transfer money and pay bills without hassle. It
was shown in a survey that those who have either a bank deposit or credit card account, were now
doing almost all their banking transactions through their computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Survey also
showed that Filipinos were now showing growing interest in using online banking beyond the usual
transactions. About 92 percent of respondents wanted to "take their banking with them" and be able to
access all of their finances while traveling, and 78 percent expressed interest in global investment
opportunities.

During this pandemic, the education system changed, we are now doing online class with the help of our
electronic devices. Schools right now are learning management system (LMS) to deliver, manage, and
keep track of students’ progress. This LMS, which is delivered online, relates to the e-learning system.
Now are using the E-learning which utilizes electronic technologies to access educational curriculum
outside of a traditional classroom. In most cases, it refers to a course, program, or degree delivered
completely online. Some call this as distance learning. Globe and PLDT are now giving back to the society
by introducing technology to public schools and making sure students, as well as teachers, become
global learners since this is one of the solutions so that education can still continue.

When it comes to business, the use of internet now can be a big help since in can be serve as a platform
to endorse products and services and this is where electronic commerce or e-commerce comes in since
it is type of business, or commercial transaction that involves the transfer of information across the
internet. In health, E-health (or eHealth) comes in wherein it refers to the use of information and
communications technology in health care. With the help of electronic devices, more researches
conducted, more innovation happens and consumers inevitably increases the number of products they
buy online related to their health. And now with this pandemic, online check up now happens and the
patient records are now shifted from paper to digital.

In conclusion, technology can alter people's appearance, health, work, business, education, and, most
importantly, their attitudes especially Filipinos in a positive or negative way since this 2021, more than
81 billion Filipino are social media users. Technologies plays an important role in people's lives since it
affects their quality of life.  Technologies have, and will continue to, have a huge impact on our lives, in
one way or another.
