Assessing Learning
State 3 reasons why constructive alignment is an essential matter in addressing the consistency of
assessment in learning?
1.1. In constructive alignment, teachers look to all the factors that affect the students learning such
as strategies, activities and other assessment techniques. Teachers planned the learning
outcomes of every student before implementing.
1.2. Planning the wanted outcomes will be easier to create activities and strategies for students to
gain those outcomes.
1.3. Since constructive alignment involves planning the outcomes first, it make sure that learning will
be effective, transparent and effective because planning the outcomes is a process where all
the factors that can affect the learning will be put into consideration.
2. In your opinion, which is to be considered first in setting learning standards, performance, or
content standards? Justify your answer.
For me, performance standard need to be considered first, it is because all people not just
students learns best with all the things they do. Performance is the best tool to make sure that
the students really learned and prove that they gain the wanted outcomes of teachers. It is a
way to make sure that the content standards that have been implemented in students really
works well.
3. Give two classroom situations in each of the scenarios:
• Assessment of learning
• Assessment for learning
• Assessment as learning
Assessment of learning:
A. Ms. Ann approach Zandra, her student, that didn’t take up the final exam for her subject to
take it or else she can’t complete her grades.
B. During mid-term examination, Mr. Zander caught his student cheating, that is why he
lectured all of his students the importance of each exam and how it will reflect their grades
and knowledge.
Assessment for learning:
A. Teacher Rowena always give quizzes to her student every end of the lesson to make
sure that her student gain knowledge about their topic.
B. After Romela’s reporting, student of Mr. Galvez, he asked her to asked questions to her
classmates to make sure that they listened carefully.
Assessment as learning:
A. Teacher Myra tasks her students to write similarities and differences between them and
one of their peers then try to reflect to it.
B. Rowell together with his group mates writes a short play for their subject today.
