skunk to survive without being active.
Why is migrating a good way to get through the winter? Refer to the text in your answer.
Animals have to change the way they live and where they are when winter starts and this is
much better than staying in the same place since many plants die and food is depleted, the
ground freezes and can be dangerous for them. That is why some of them migrate to places
where they can find food and the climate is warmer.
How is the way that frogs and snakes get through the winter different from how squirrels
and beavers survive?
They differ because snakes, frogs and bears hibernate, that is, they hide during the winter. Their
bodies slow down. They save your energy. They do not eat. They live on their fat, and they
sleep through the cold while squirrels, beavers. and raccoons store food in their homes. They do
not sleep all winter. They live on what they saved in summer and fall.
