Modular Learning Experiences Proposal

MODULAR LEARNING EXPERIENCES: INPUTS FOR TEACHING INTERVENTION

A Research Proposal by: Precious Nicolle R. Palma

Introduction
COVID-19 pandemic is a global public health emergency that has resulted in the
widespread disruption and restrictions of almost all sectors of essentials in our society.
One of the most affected is the educational sectors.
In response to this situation, the educational leaders decided to adopt the new
normal in education. One of this distance education platforms is the modular learning.
The Department of Education (DepEd) delayed the opening of the school year
and offered self-learning modules to students at home. Distance learning access for all
students at home. Distance learning access for all students, wheter radio, television,
modular or online tools were made available.

RESEARCH QUESTION
This study aims to find out the perceptions and experiences of Grade 12-HUMSS
students undertaking modular learning in Polonuling NHS.
Specifically, the study sought answer to the following functions.
1. How is modular learning in the lens of Grade 12- HUMSS students?
2. What are the challenges encountered in learning through self- learning modules?
3. In what way do students make adjustments to cope up with education in the new
normal?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The Students
The study will give opportunity for them to learn from other experiences
and consequently adapt positive measures in learning through self-modulea.
The Parents
This research will benefit the parents as it will give them insights on how to
be of help to their children and to the school community.
The Teachers
This research will serve as a guiding past in delivering quality and
effective services to their learners, as they discover significant impacts of modular
learning through the lens of their students.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY


This study will focus on the perceptions, experiences and adjustments of Grade
12- HUMSS students of Polonuling NHS in learning through self-learning modules.
The participants of this study will be limited to Grade 11- HUMSS students of
Polonuling NHS, SY 2020-2021.

METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN
This research will use of qualitative design particularly phenomenology. I will

employ phenomenology because I will gather about the views and experiences of

Grade 11 HUMSS students in Modular Learning.

SAMPLING

The sampling technique that I used in my study was the judgment/ purposeful

sampling. I will choose 5 students who have varying scores in terms of Modular

Learning.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT AND DATA COLLECTION

The data collection instruments that I will use are interview and focused group

discussion. I will interview 5 students, after that I conducted a focus group discussion.
