Lesson 2

Reading and speaking lesson focused on the topic of long-term rental. The stages are warm-up (questions on topic about
accommodation and place where my student lives), pre-reading activities, including short video and brainstorming, reading stage

Reading and speaking lesson focused on the topic relevant to the Student (living and studying abroad). Starts with warm-up and
eliciting vocabulary for the topic. Includes two discussion topics: first in the beginning (other students’ experience), another – at
Lesson Topic & Outline the end – how to deal with ‘reverse culture shock’. Watching video and reading the text focused on the main idea of the lesson
will also enable her to speak freely on the topic. We will revise conditionals and comparisons to give more instruments to describe
and compare. Extra: we will recycle some colloquial language and phrasal verbs from Lesson 1.

Reading and grammar lesson includes next stages: warm-up + eliciting vocabulary, pre-teaching new words. Setting the context –
student creates her own story based on words given. Then go reading stage and grammar part (focus on meaning and use +

Listening and grammar lesson is focused on topic of drinking traditions in different countries (not promoting alcohol abuse). The
main stages are warm up + setting the context. Watching the video is aimed at improving listening skills (in particular, listening for

the gist with further exercises). After the first part the grammar part goes with revising passive voice structures. All the following
grammar exercises focus on the topic of alcohol drinking cultures and traditions. The lesson finishes with speaking activities, e.g.

debates (with focus on expressing own opinion and grammar structure “it is said that, it is believed) and discussing controversial
questions on the topic.
