1. Explain the nature of mathematics holistically in terms of the meanings, roles and
values (C2, A3, PLO1)
2. Analyse the development and changes of the mathematics curriculum in Malaysia
since independence. (C4, A1, PLO3, CTPS2)
3. Present the interpretations of the primary school Mathematics curriculum in groups.
(C5, A5, PLO3, PLO4, PLO5, CTPS3, CS3, TS3).
4. Evaluate trends and issues in current mathematics development based on various
reputable or authoritative references. (C5, A4, PLO3, PLO6, CTPS3, LL2)
Objectives of coursework:
1. Answer a quiz which covers Topic 1:The nature of mathematics and Topic 2 :
The development of mathematics curriculum in Malaysia (CLO1,CLO2)
2. Produce an academic writing base on Topic 4: Trends and issues in
mathematics curriculum. The writing must in line with the big idea and essential
question.(CLO4)
3. Write a reflection report based on the data collected during one week PBS
(CLO3,CLO4)
4. Present the results of the data collected during PBS in groups. (CLO4)

In order to to implement the assignment, you need to fullfill the concept of new pedagogy for
deep learning (Kapasiti Pedagogi Pembelajaran Bermakna) which based on the big idea and
essential question given as follows;
You are required to use the big idea and essential question as a basis to conduct the
good and meaningful assignments (Assignment 2, Assignment 3 and Assignment 4).
1. The quiz consists of two structured questions from Topic 1: Nature of mathematics
holistically in terms of the meanings, roles and values and topic 2 : The history of
development of mathematics curriculum in Malaysia
2. The quiz takes 30 minutes.
3. Marks will be given as in the marking schme.
BEFORE PBS
1. Prior to be in school for PBS, you are required to prepare with enough questions to be used
in the interview with mathematics teachers in the particular schools.
2. All questions must be generated with respect to essential question How do digital tools can
be leveraged to enhance the primary school mathematics curriculum?
3. All the questions must be related to Topic 3: and Topic 4.
DURING PBS
4. With all questions prepared in step 1 to step 3 above, you are required to collect the data
through interview with mathematics teachers in the school
5. A part from the data from interview, other form data such documents, pictures, or video can
be collected to answer the essential questions
AFTER PBS
6. Discuss with your group members (should be from different schools) to analyze the data
gathered from interview and documents, pictures, or video. The findings will be used in the
Assignment 4.

ASSIGNMENT 3: ACADEMIC WRITING 2 (Topic 4) (25%) Individual
1. You are required to read articles Topic 4 and understand the issues and trends in
mathematics curriculum
2. The issues related to mathematics curriculum should be analyze from different sources.
3. Choose one topic which is in the New Education Blueprint 2013-2025 either higher order
thinking skills (HOTS) or Classroom based assessment (PBD).
4. Choose and print at least five articles from different sources as a proof you have read the
articles
5. Based on your selected topic, put your own argument based on this essential question:
How do digital tools can be leveraged to enhance the primary school mathematics
curriculum?
6. The essay must be written in approximately 1000 words
1. The presentation will be held in group to report the findings as conducted in Assignment 2.
2. You and your group members are from different schools during the implementation of
PBS
3. During presentation, you should highlight the similarities and differences of teachers’
opinion.
4. Provide your comments regarding the findings as reported in step 3.
5. Your group presentation should be recorded (10 minutes) and to be uploaded in Google
Classroom
