S is the total sales;
C is the Commission
r is the rate

1. S P 30 000
C P 900
2. r 3%
S P 60 000
C P 6 000
r 10%

3. S P 200 000
C P 18 000
r 9%

4. S P 100 000
C P 30 000
5. r 30%
S P 250 000
C P 37 500
r 15%
6. S P 250 000
C P 50 000
r 20%

7. S P 375 000
C P 75 000
r 20%

8. S P 550 000
C P 137 500
r 25%
Quarter 4, LAS-1-2

9. S P 400 000
C P 182 000
r 45.5%

10. S P 2 500 000

C P 50 000
r 2%

B. Solve each problem.

1. Alec works in a car company. Last month, he sold a car worth P1,500,000 and get 5% commission.
How much was his commission for that month.

C= r.S

C= (0.5)(P 1 500 000) = P 750 000

Alec commission is P 750 000 that month.

2. A real estate agent received a 2% commission for selling a house worth P1,375,000 and a 3%
commission for selling a lot worth P2,000,000. How much was her total commission?

C = r.S

(0.02)(P 1 375 000) = P 127 500

(0.03)( 2 000 000) = P 60 000

P127 500 + P60 000 = P87 500 total commission of real estate sales agent.

S P 15 000
3. R r= =20 %
C P 3 000

4. Thor was a real estate sales agent. He received a straight commission of P45,000, when he sold a
house. If the commission rate was 9% how much was the house?

C P 45,000
S = =P 500000 is the amount of the house .
r 0.09

5. Catriona’s monthly salary is P16,000. She is also entitled to a 30% commission on her total sales each
month. If she is aiming to earn a total pay of P22,000 in one month, how much should be her total sales?

P22 000 – P16 000 = P6 000

(P20 000)(0.30) = P6 000

P20 000 Catriona’s total sales.

6. As a sales agent, Pia receives a monthly salary and a 25% commission on her sales. During a certain
month, her total sales was P20,000 and her total pay was 18,000. How much is her monthly salary?

3% commission on sales 0f over 200 cards.

(0.01)(P10 000) = P100

(0.02)(P10 000) = P200
(0.03)(P20 000) = P600

P100 + P200 + P600 = P900 total commission of the sales agent who sells 300 cards.

8. Arianna’s monthly salary is x pesos. Her commission during a certain month is half of her monthly
salary. If her commission amounted to P4,500, how much was her total pay for that month?

month amounted to P16,000, what was her monthly salary and commission?

3+1 = 4
4 ÷ P16 000 = P4 000
(P4000)(3) = P12 000 – Moira’s monthly income

(P4000)(1) = P4 000 – Moira’s commission

10. Baron gets a 5% commission on his first P5,000 worth of sales and another 15% commission on
all of his next sales over P5,000. If in a certain month, his total sales was P30,000 and he

(0.05)(P5 000) = P250
(0.15)( P25 000) = P3 750
