II. Problem Presented

Michael is feeling worthless because of being abandoned by his biological


parents and by those people who looked at him as not good enough and cannot be
trusted due to his past experienced by being involved in theft.

III. Background Information

A. Client

Michael was only five (5) years old when left by his parents and was found
loitering along Bolton Extension, Davao City by the Police Authorities on April 3,
2003 at around 7:53 in the evening the child was referred and admitted to the DSWD
reception and study center for children or (RSCC). On the same date the Police
Chief Inspector of San Pedro Police Station Mr. Alden B. Delvo made proper
disposition and management of the case and on August 10, 2012 Michael was
placed to a licensed foster Patrocinio and Eleuteria Benetiz for him to experience
individualize care and attention.

Michael is now living with his foster parents Mr and Mrs Barahan, Presently
he is already 15 years old stands 5 feet and 4 inches tall, and weights 52 kilogram,
he has a dark complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He is currently enrolled at San
Isidro High School, Kilate Toril Davao City, as grade VII (7) student. According to the
client, during his vacant time he prefers to have a part time job, such as harvesting
fruits and doing some labor in construction site instead of doing nothing at home.
Furthermore, the money that he gets from work is being shared to his foster parents.
In addition, Michael is trying to please people, that surrounds him, to make them
realize that he is worthy to be trusted.

B. Family

There is an unknown information about the biological parents of the


child. He could not remember anything about his family aside his name.

The foster parents of Michael provided him love, attention and care as their
own child. They accepted Michael whole heartedly and treated him as part of the
family. His foster father workings as a Security Guard and the family has a small
farm which serves as their secondary source of income.

C. Environment

The family is living in the rural area at Toril, Davao City. The house is concrete
with spacious bedrooms. The place is serene and peaceful since there are lot of
trees. The residents there have the same socio- economic background, since most
of them are farmers.

IV. Assessment

Michael is having difficulties on how to cope with from his feeling of


worthlessness from being abandoned and doing things just to make people believed
that he is worthy to be trusted. According to the past of the child, he was involved in
stealing money theft with his friends because no one is taking good care of him and
teach him good character, despite his past Michael is doing his best to prove others
that he had already changed in he is making ways to have a small income through
his part-time jobs, such as helping in harvesting, raising their animals and plants and
in construction site.
Michael shows a strong personality and is eager to study hard, in order to
finish his studies, The child is also active in school by, engaging himself in
basketball, which he can gain friends, who will believe and accept him. His foster
parent, also motivates him to do better in school, for him to have a better future even
if, he cannot find his real parents.

V. Intervention Plan

Goal: At the end of March, 2019 the client would be able to lessen his feeling
of worthless.
