The document disagrees that integrity is more important for business professionals than students. It argues that integrity is equally important for both as it involves honesty, accountability, and truthfulness. For professionals, users rely on the integrity of accountant information, while for students, a lack of integrity developed during their studies will likely continue into their professional careers. Unethical practices provide only short-term benefits and never achieve long-term success or perpetuity for organizations. Therefore, the document concludes that integrity is equally vital for both business students and professionals.

“Integrity is more important for business professionals than it is for business

students”. Do you agree? Explain.

No we don’t agree;
In broad terms, integrity is doing what you say you're going to do even when there's no one there
to see you doing it. It also means owning up to your mistakes and remaining accountable. It is
possibly the most important principle of leadership and dependent on integrity because it
demands truthfulness and honesty. A professional accountant should be straightforward and
honest in all professional and business relationships. Integrity also implies fair dealing and
truthfulness. Many companies and organizations fail because they don't follow the reality
principle. Integrity means telling the truth even if the truth is ugly.
Integrity is a very important aspect of an accountant. An accountancy professional is engaged in
providing information, for different end-users regardless of the purpose. However, the fact that
the user of the information relies heavily on the information cannot be ignored .The information
presented is evaluated by the user to make an informed decision about the entity. Unlike in other
professions, in Accounting Users can’t see its quality immediately. In fact users might not know
for years that something was wrong with the information—probably not until it’s too late to do
anything about it. Thus, users rely on the integrity of accountants to assure the integrity of
information. If you cannot trust the information, then it is nearly worthless.
Thus we don’t agree with the statement “Integrity is more important for business professionals
than it is for business students.” The principle of integrity implies that a person is able to abstain
from behavior that generates conflicts of interest carrying out ones duties ethically. It also
implies abstaining from engaging in any activity that would discredit the profession. In fact,
Integrity is most important for business professionals, but it is equally important for business
students.
For business students, Integrity is a most essential virtue but very uncommonly found in people.
If business students be little dishonest in their approach towards learning or adopt unethical
practices while learning, they will never be able to put their learning to their most effective and
fruitful use in their professional life later. Dishonesty or unethical practices, once adopted can
dangerously becomes a way of life and therefore once adopted in student life, is bound to be
carried along in professional life later. This should be avoided because; it does not take you far
although it may give you short term benefits.
And for business professionals, is is the most important virtue they should have. Working in
multinationals, they are in charge of the managements trust and shareholders money invested in
business. Unethical practices and dishonest means, as mentioned above never take you far and
these virtues are at the roots of the corporate frauds. There should be no room for unethical
means and dishonest approach and lack of integrity among business professionals. They affect
society at large in a very adverse manner. Even though it may offer short term benefits, it has
never delivered perpetuity to an organization and never done well for anyone in the long run.
Therefore integrity is equally important for both business students and professionals.
