Choosing Objectives for Demo-Teaching

In choosing her objectives and subject matter for her demo-teaching, the author considered her students' needs and what they should learn. She created objectives based on informing and skill-building for students, not on her own wants. She also chose a subject matter that she knew well so that she could teach the right information and address student questions about the topic.

What are the things that you considered in choosing your objectives and
subject matter in your demo-teaching?

A lesson plan is a teacher’s guide for facilitating a lesson. It typically includes the

goal (what students need to learn), how the goal will be achieved (the method of

delivery and procedure) and a way to measure how well the goal was reached (usually

via homework assignments or testing).

In creating your objectives, we must always consider our students —what are
the information and skills that they should learn, or they need. We must not create our
objectives based on what we want, it must be based on our students needs. Next is the
subject matter, when choosing a subject matter, we must consider if we knew a lot
about it. In this sense, we must make a way to study the subject matter first before
teaching it to our students for us to have the right information we are giving and to
address if the students have questions regarding to the subject matter.
