Cycle Policy
In order to continue seeing increased value from your investment in the Omnitracs Roadnet Transportation Suite (RTS)
software, we highly recommend our customers create an upgrade plan. This will allow you to reap even greater benefits
from Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies continued investment in enhancing and developing our products. The product
lifecycle is designed to communicate the support and development available for a version during the lifespan of that
version. This policy is published to provide clear information for our customers to create an effective software upgrade plan.

With the release of RTS 3.8.6, the chart below outlines our current lifecycle policy.

RTS 3.8.3 through 6/30/19 from 7/1/19 to 12/31/19

RTS 3.8.4 through 9/30/19 from 10/1/19 to 3/31/20

RTS 3.8.5 through 12/31/19 from 1/1/20 to 6/30/20

RTS 3.8.6 through 3/31/20 from 4/1/20 to 9/30/20

Support Lifecycle Definitions


FULL SUPPORT • 24x7 software support is available via phone, email and the internet
• Software enhancement requests are accepted and considered for future release according to software
enhancement policy
• Software maintenance updates are released on a quarterly basis
• Software “Hot Fixes” for critical items that directly impact business are available as needed
• Software version is fully supported by both Support and Development
• Software version is available for download from Support Portal
• New mobile device certifications are considered for the version
• New map vendor data is accepted for the version

LIMITED SUPPORT • 24x7 software support is available via phone and email
• The latest software update for the version is available on the Roadnet website
• A direct software upgrade path is available to the current fully-supported software version
• Roadnet will consider a “hot fix” for software issues only with direct, negative impact on business operations.
Urgency and impact will be jointly determined by Roadnet and Customer
• Software version is available upon request from Customer Service
• New map vendor data is accepted for the version
Software updates for the supported versions are released on a per quarter basis. For a software defect that has a
direct, negative impact on business operations and a viable work-around does not exist, Roadnet Technologies
may provide a software “Hot Fix” in the current supported software version running in the customer environment.

Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies will release a new RTS software version on a quarterly basis. Each quarterly
software release will be fully supported for 18 months with limited support for an additional 6 months. All
quarterly releases will contain new and enhanced software features, as well as, any software updates.

RouteNet map versions supported:


The RouteNet version is assigned to newly built map data. Roadnet will only support RouteNet v8 for any newly
released updates on the Omnitracs Roadnet Transportation Suite.

GIS Vendor map data is processed quarterly by Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies. Customers purchasing
maps receive the latest vendor data available to Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies.

MobileCast Devices:
MobileCast handheld devices and smartphones that have been discontinued by the manufacturer will continue
to have MobileCast software supported if Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies supports the MobileCast application
version indicated for the device. However, due to technological advances, we cannot guarantee replacements for
discontinued devices or certification for all devices on all versions. MobileCast customers are strongly encouraged
to contact Customer Service prior to upgrading. Additionally you may visit https://customer.omnitracs.com/
devicelist/rts.html to see the latest devices supported by Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies.
