LEARNING ACTIVITY 1

Our University's programs and activities are designed to help students develop their
skills and knowledge that will help them succeed in their future endeavors. As a part of this
institution, I already noticed my progress in acquisition of information that widens our
knowledge in an underrated topics which were hidden in the eyes of the public. Being
knowledgeable to societal issues, benefits me personally to create plans that is appropriate to
the situation of our country. As a future engineer, it is important that we are equipped with a
lot of plans that would contribute to the nation building. Aside from this, it boosts confidence
to voice out my thoughts flawlessly without the feeling of embarrassment. Aside from this, our
University is opening its opportunity to involved students in formulating activities and programs
that would help in skills development. For example conducting online survey/poll on the
possible webinars to be organized by each department. For me, it is a once step process to help
students to be active members of the community and inculcate the act of volunteerism. Aside
from this, the activities and programs that were organized by our university gives me an idea on
the possible steps that I could do in the organization that I belong to. The ideas of our
organization would possibly synergize to form a wholesome, and meaningful programs that
would be used by our fellow youth in building their self-esteem, skills, and many more.

“What will I do to become successful in this semester’s learning journey?”
The government's new protocols had an impact on the lives of the majority of Filipinos,
especially students. It is the first time we are exposed to a new form of study, which causes a
lot of adjustment not just for parents but also for us who are unable to grasp the depths of our
lesson without the assistance of their classmates and teachers. In the start of the semester, I
tried to be optimistic as possible because I believe that this new system has its own advantages.
However, as this semester proceeds, I realized that this happening is not an easy feat and I find
myself trying to understand my capabilities, my strengths and my weaknesses to conquer
hindrances in reaching my dreams.
Being unable to interact to professors and block mates, is the biggest crisis that students
are facing. Clarifications on the topics is barely reached, and our queries were often disregarded
due to bombarded messages that professors received from their students. Though
communication is the best way to know our progress I think it is still not enough. We students,
have our own characteristics, hence, we have different techniques to understand the topics
being discussed. In my own way, I decided to find more time for myself. I had to admit that we
have a lot of tasks needed to be done, but having a time for yourself means that you are giving
yourself a break that this year had brought to us. I believe that a healthy body comes with a
healthy mind, I would not force myself in doing tasks late at night depriving my health and my
eating time just to finish the tasks. Second, is setting my priorities. The second semester
covered most of our major subjects and it is such a pressure since we are only given a shorter
time to process the lessons and answer the activities. If there are unimportant event that I am
invited to attend, I had to decline. I am making sure that I finished working on the activities
before I indulged myself to all leisure and enjoyment. Being wise enough in using our time is a
skills needed to develop as we step to a higher learning. Lastly, do not be contented on what
our professors taught. We have a lot of time to explore to our chosen careers especially to the
subjects that we do not understand well. We can ask for our professor, but it creates difference
if you are creating your own techniques to understand the topic or you are doing advance
study. Doing this, you are lessening the time consumed in understanding the next topic.
