Diversity of Learners

1. What strategies can be used to promote an appreciation of cultural diversity in different


classes?

Teacher should know these developmental traits and characteristics to


understand each individual learner's needs, motivation and interests. This task is also
helpful for teachers in handling students' behavior and managing classroom tasks.

2. Examine existing instructional materials such as textbooks & manuals. How do these
instructional materials respond to students with various needs & interests?

Understanding different learning styles in thinking preferences is essential in


designing appropriate learning experience selecting learner-centered strategies,
designing effective assessment tools, and by responding to individual learner's learning
needs. There is a need for teachers to match their teaching styles to the learning styles
and thinking preferences of the learners.

3. What type of learning environment can be developed for culturally diverse students?

Influence of diversity factors on education Schools are responding to culture


diverse individuals. Students are becoming diverse in terms of language, culture
socioeconomic conditions, learning styles, talents, family background, religion, and an
abilities. They have different interests and issues, too. Teachers, therefore, need to
understand all these factors that contribute to diversity so they could teach the students
effectively. It is also important for teachers to instill a global perspective among
students, exposing them to the histories, languages, religious tradition and cultures of
other places
