The authors would like to submit a manuscript for publication that examines the influence of the Celik STEM Module on pupils' science achievement. The module was developed based on a STEM approach for the topic of reproduction in Form One science. An experiment found a significant difference in post-test science achievement scores between a treatment group that used the module and a control group that used traditional methods. In conclusion, the Celik STEM Module shows potential to improve science achievement and should be further developed and implemented as an alternative teaching method, especially given declining student interest and participation in science.

Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education (APJEE) May 13th, 2019

Dear Editor of APJEE,

I would like to submit the manuscript entitled “Viewing How the Implementation of Celik
STEM Module Influences Pupils’ Science Achievement” by Ahmad Adnan Mohd Shukri,
Che Nidzam Che Ahmad, and Norhayati Daud to be considered for publication as an original
article in the Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education (APJEE).
STEM should be taken seriously due to the decrease in pupils’ participation and
interest in science, especially in secondary level. So, we took an initiative to develop a
specific guide in term of module named Celik STEM Module that can guide teachers in
creating an effective and meaningful STEM learning environment. The Celik STEM Module
which had been developed was based on STEM approach for the topic of Reproduction in
Form One Science. After obtaining an excellent validity index of .90 and an outstanding
reliability index of Cronbach’s Alpha .93, the module had been tested the impact towards
science achievement. One-way ANCOVA showed there was significant difference between
treatment group (had been educated using the module) and control group (had been educated
using traditional method) on posttest scores after adjusting for pretest scores of Science
Achievement Test. In conclusion, Celik STEM Module that highlights STEM approach is
essential to be developed as an alternative teaching method for science teachers particularly.
The results of the present study implied that the module’s effectiveness potential was high.
As implication, the implementation of Celik STEM Module in teaching and learning
benefited pupils in improving science achievement. We believe these findings will be of
interest to the readers of your journal.
We declare that this manuscript is original, has not been published before and is not
currently being considered for publication elsewhere. We know of no conflicts of interest
associated with this publication, and there has been no significant financial support for this
work that could have influenced its outcome. As one of the authors, I confirm that the
manuscript has been read and approved for submission by Corresponding Author and the
third author.
We hope you find our manuscript suitable for publication and look forward to hear
from you in due course.

Sincerely,

(AHMAD ADNAN BIN MOHD SHUKRI)
