1. Tell me something about yourself?

This is the first question that the interviewer may ask you. Focus on all the positive things that make you
a good fit for this position.  

2. How do you handle stress?

As a market researcher, there will be a lot of stress involved. Work and stress go hand in hand. Here the
interviewer wants to know if you can manage that stress. If yes, he would want to know how do you do
that.

To answer this question you may say: Work stress enables me to stay motivated and productive. It
helps me perform and give the best results.

3. What is your greatest strength and what is your weakness?

The research job requires a lot of attention to detail while working on multiple assignments at a time. To
answer this question, you can say something like: "I try to complete my assignment on or before the
deadline without losing my focus on the details. I prepare a timetable for myself which allows me to
prioritize my assignments and helps me finish the right task at the right time."

The interviewer has asked you this question particularly to know if you are a person who can identify his
flaws and are you making efforts to work and improve those flaws.  

To answer this question you can say something like: "At the time, I have a difficulty in keeping myself
organized. However, I have now started using a time management system which helps me keep myself
organized."

4. Why Is Marketing Research Important?

Marketing research is important simply because we--web marketers-- need such information to make
our marketing decisions. The more accurate the information we have, the less likely we are to make
mistakes in our decision

5. What Exactly Is Web Marketing Research?

Web marketing research is about conducting research (usually statistical analyses) to understand web
marketing issues. The process of a research project includes: finding a market issue, translate it into a
marketing research project, design a survey questionnaire, collect information from a survey, conduct
analyses and report the findings and marketing implementations.

6. Why do we do market research?

Market research helps in understanding consumer's needs and preferences, if they are satisfied with the
product or not, what are their expectations, etc. Also, it helps the marketer to get the right product at its
right place and price.

Market Research is a time taking and money consuming exercise. So, te the two most important things
you need to consider are:

8. Name some popular and widely used statistical data analysis methods for market analysis.

The most popular market analysis tools are as follows:

i. SWOT Analysis: SWOT stands for Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats. It means your
organization identifies the strengths and opportunities from the business point of view and eliminates
weaknesses and threats.

ii. Gap Analysis: Gap analysis is done to measure the difference between actual performance and
desired performance. If there is a difference between the two helps to understand what needs to be
done to reach the desired position.

iii. MaxDiff Analysis: It is done to understand consumer preferences across product attributes such as
product branding, feature, advertising, etc. This analysis is simple to use and implement.

iv. Trend Analysis: It helps to identify and predict future trends in the data movement. Trend analysis
works on the fundamentals of what has happened in past and gives an idea of what will happen in the
coming time.

v. Conjoint Analysis: It is done to understand the different features of a product or service from the
customer's point of view.

9. What are the steps we usually undertake to carry out market research:

i. Identify your research purpose. Define your objective for research. Why do you need to conduct the
research? What information you need from this research.
