Concept Paper
Program Title: #BullyProof

Objectives:
#BullyProof campaign aims to:

 To address the existence of bullying in the school.

 To make the students aware about the cause and impact of bullying.

 To conduct awareness-raising programs with school stakeholders in preventing

and addressing bullying.

 To create regulations in the school that handle bullying and its effects.

Rationale: (Spirit of the activity)

Over the years, many studies have been conducted about bullying with different
focus. A bill has been recently approved that would prohibit bullying in elementary
and secondary schools throughout the country. The bill is now a law that defines acts
of bullying in schools and authorizes these institutions to impose sanctions on
student bullies. Bullying is the most common form of violence in schools, especially in
elementary and secondary schools. Students are ridiculed, taunted, teased, mocked
and made fun of by fellow students who think or feel that they can get away with such
behavior because they are superior, or great than the students they bully. Schools
and its administrators are always in a dilemma as to they would address bullies in the
campus.
Pigskin (2003:555) mentions that, “Bullying in schools is a worldwide problem that can
have negative consequences for the general school climate and for the right of the students
to learn in a safe environment without fear.”

Furnish (2003:9) also mentions that bullying in school causes widespread negative
experiences such as misery, distress, fear, anxiety, anger and helplessness.

Many students experienced bullying that might affect the studies and behavior
and can cause trauma, depression and may lead to committing suicide.
There has been a report by a faculty member that has been cyber bullied by
his/her students thus #BullyProof campaign will cover not just the students as well as
the faculty members.
This campaign #BullyProof will raise an awareness to the elementary advisers
and high school students of Jaime Hilario Integrated School – La Salle. The teachers
from elementary department will be asked to attend the campaign and not the
elementary students. Elementary teachers and advisers have more knowledge and

wisdom about understanding why such awareness is conducted. This awareness

program will be on October 4, 11 and 18, 2018, Thursday at 3:30 pm at Auditorium.
Video presentation and song will be played and theme will be displayed. The
program will be documented and will be posted in the school’s official website to
raise more awareness to all students and individuals. The best way to address
bullying is to stop it before it starts.
The kick off of this program will be on October 1, 2018 as part of participating of
the Anti-bullying month. During the kick off, a video presentation about bullying will
be shown, Anti-bullying tarpaulin will be posted in every classroom and blue ribbons
will be given as part of supporting the #BullyProof campaign.

There will be three sessions where on October 4, 2018, the teachers and
advisers from elementary department will be the attendees and on October 11, 2018
will be the junior school students and on October 18, 2018 will be the senior high
school.
A guest speaker will be invited and leaflets will be given after the session.
The teachers will be encouraged to do an activity inside the classroom which is
called “My Angel”. There will be students assigned in each classmates to do good
deeds to them every day. This will improve students’ relationship and can lessen
fights or even bullying.
