and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation
1.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to understand and
respond to oral texts in a variety of contexts.
LEARNING STANDARD : 1.1.4 Able to talk about related topics with guidance.
1.3.1 Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral texts by:
(a) asking and answering questions
OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to;
1. Demonstrate understanding of oral texts by listening to a read text
2. Complete the text by filling in the missing words.
ACTIVITY : 1. Teacher displays pictures of two different places on the board.
     Asks pupils to identify the differences of the pictures.

spelling:
(a) phrases
OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to;
1. Write in neat legible print with correct spelling of phrases
2. Complete a paragraph with correct words and spelling.
ACTIVITY : 1 Writes the words fund –rising on the board.
    2. Asks pupils if they have involved in fund – raising fair before.
    3. Pupils respond.

LEARNING STANDARD : 5.1.1 Able to use nouns correctly and appropriately:
(b) singular nouns
(c) plural nouns
OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to;
1. Know what singular and plural nouns are.
2. Use singular and plural nouns in writing.
ACTIVITY : 1. Asks pupils to look around the classroom and list the name of things/objects they
    can see.
    2. State the quantity of each item.
    3. Draw tables on the board and asks pupils to write what they have seen.
4. Explain the topic.

Anthology of poems : At the playground
CONTENT STANDARD : 4.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to enjoy and
appreciate rhymes, poems and songs.
4.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to plan, organize and
produce creative works for enjoyment.
LEARNING STANDARD : 4.1.1 Able to enjoy jazz chants, poems and songs through non-verbal response.
4.1.2 Able to sing songs and recite jazz chants and poems with correct stress
pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.
4.3.1 Able to plan, produce and display creative works based on literary texts using a
variety of media with guidance.
OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to;
1. Enjoy jazz chants, poems and songs through non-verbal responses
2. Recite poems with correct stress, pronunciation, rhythm and intonation
ACTIVITY : Introduce the poem
    1. Teacher brings pupils to go through the poem.

Practise the poem

2. Recite the poem, as a class, in group, in pair, as individually.
