Beagle Training for Detector Dogs

Brent Held trains beagle detector dogs at the National detector dog training center in Orlando, Florida. The video shows Held working with Stockton, a beagle learning to detect scents like meat, citrus, mangos, and apples in luggage. Stockton struggles at times, lying down when he should sit or getting ahead of Held. Detector dogs must be good with people and have a strong food drive to work. Not all dogs are suitable to be detector dogs, and those dogs are placed in pet homes. Stockton is making progress in his training to detect scents.
