2.1 Certification and licence
Certification as an ‘Instructor in Logosynthesis®’ entitles the holder to offer the Introductory
Seminar ‘Self-Coaching with Logosynthesis®’ as well as the open topic seminars.

Certification
An Instructor Meeting is offered at regular intervals for the training and certification of all Practi-
tioners who would like to give the official Logosynthesis self-coaching seminar and the open
topic seminars. The meeting can also be attended by Practitioners-in-training who are Basic
members and wish to acquire the Practitioner title in the foreseeable future. The meeting offers
substantial added value for Practitioner certification. The Instructor Meeting is organised by the
LIA. The seminar costs include the licence fee of CHF 90/€ 70, the material for the announcement
and the use of the.pptx file of the introductory seminar.

License renewal
Certified instructors must renew their license every 3 years by attending appropriate events or-
ganized by the LIA or country organizations, or by having themselves updated and supervised by
a supervisor authorised by the LIA. The license renewal is included in the seminar costs.

Advertising on the LIA website

As Professional Members the Instructors can publish their respective offers on the LIA website at
www.logosynthesis.internationel/calender. The link, via which the offers can be entered, can be
found in the Instructor-Login area of the website:
www.logosynthesis.international/instructors-login.

LIA Instructor meeting

The instructor meeting organized by the LIA usually consists of two to three parts:

1st day: Instructor certification

This day allows new Practitioners to obtain the licence required to give the Introductory Seminar
‘Self-Coaching with Logosynthesis®’. Instructors who attended a certification workshop more
than 5 years ago are also recommended to visit this seminar as the content is continually im-
proved. The seminar’s content is presented alongside didactic and organisational elements.
At the same time, an advanced training day can be offered for existing instructors

2nd day: Evaluation and development and license renewal

This day allows participants to exchange their experiences of the self-coaching seminar and other
open sessions with other participants. The group discusses current didactic, marketing and or-
ganisational topics and new developments in Logosynthesis are presented. This day is compul-
sory for all Instructors who wish to retain their licences to present the Introductory Seminar ‘Self-
Coaching with Logosynthesis®’.

Possible 3rd day: Presentation of an open seminar

This day involves the presentation of a new, open seminar that Instructors can give to wider au-
diences who have no prior knowledge of Logosynthesis. The open topic seminars are intended to
engage audiences who are not primarily interested in Logosynthesis through other topics such as
‘Money’, ‘Time’ and ‘Procrastination’. Logosynthesis is the main tool used in the seminars, and
participants often end up expressing a wish to find out more about the method through a self-
coaching seminar or coaching session.

Alternative certification as an ‘Instructor in Logosynthesis®’

Instructor Meetings are only currently offered within German-speaking countries. The following
certification options exist outside of these areas:

• Option 1: The candidate submits an application to the LIA and is introduced to the seminar
by an experienced Instructor. The introduction will take place at the candidate’s own cost
and should involve him/her participating and assisting with the teaching of a self-coaching
seminar. The candidate will receive the relevant materials for a licence fee of CHF 90/€ 70.
The LIA will grant permission for the candidate to give the seminar once the supporting
Instructor has given their recommendation.
• Option 2: The candidate submits an application to the LIA and is introduced to the seminar
by an experienced Instructor. The introduction will take place at the candidate’s own cost
and during a 2-hour session. The candidate will receive the relevant materials for a licence
fee of CHF 90/€ 70. The LIA will grant permission for the candidate to give the seminar once
the supporting Instructor has given their recommendation.

Logosynthesis® Certification Regulations

3. Participation in Master Classes

Master Classes enable MPL candidates to learn and practise new developments in Logosynthesis.
There are three Master Class types:
1. Topic seminars: Seminars with new topics associated with Logosynthesis.
2. Logosynthesis Master Lab: Training seminar for self-awareness and supervision in which
the complete range of current models and methods is demonstrated, experienced and
practised.
3. Working conferences: Multi-day seminars that include the elements of both other Master
Class types and concretise additional group-dynamic aspects of Logosynthesis.

4 Mentoring in Logosynthesis
The further education to become a Master Practitioner in Logosynthese® takes place within the
framework of a formal triangular contract between the LIA, the mentor and the MPL candidate
(MPLC), as stated in the appendix. This contract runs for at least two years from the date of sig-
nature.

LIA tasks
LIA
• concludes the formal triangular contract with the MPL candidate and mentor
• develops and defines quality criteria for mentors
• appoints mentors
• keeps a list of mentors
• evaluates the mentoring processes and mentors
• ensures the further training of mentors
• registers and archives the formal triangular contract
• functions as an appeal body should a conflict arise

Candidates responsibilities
The Candidate
• concludes the formal triangular contract with the LIA and the mentor
• concludes a confidential content contract with the mentor
• is committed to the development process within the scope of certification as a MPL
• writes an interim report on this process every 6 months for the attention of the mentor
• documents the attended courses
• concludes the process with a written status report.

Mentor tasks
The Mentor
• concludes the formal triangular agreement with the LIA and MPLC?
• concludes a confidential content agreement with the MPLC?
• accompanies and checks the MPLC development process with regard to LIA certification
• can take over or delegate various tasks of the MPLC's further education path (supervi-

trol

Version 1.11.2019 LIA – Logosynthesis International Association www.logosynthesis.international 13 / 17

Logosynthesis® Certification Regulations

• recommends the MPLK for the colloquium.

Confidential content contract between mentor and MPL candidate

The confidential contract
• includes at least 10 hours of mentoring
• contains an assessment of the initial situation based on the candidate's biography and
life-task

• can be added or changed based on the course of the process
• ends with the recommendation of the mentor for the colloquium or in case of termina-

5. Participation in practice groups

Practice and discussion in practice groups are of great value for promoting the understanding of
Logosynthesis’ deeper levels. MPL candidates will meet in groups of 3, or preferably 4, on a regu-
lar basis outside of the seminars and for 4-6 meetings per year. The group sessions will take place
in person or online. This exchange aids mutual feedback and complements the learning experi-
ence.

6. Registration for certification

The mentor prepares a written recommendation for the Certification Committee once he/she is
satisfied with the MPL candidate’s personal and professional qualities. The written recommenda-
tion includes a summary of the MPL candidate’s achieved learning objectives and learning experi-
ences.

7. Written personal statement

The MPL candidate prepares a written personal statement for the Certification Committee and
registers for examination by enclosing the mentor’s recommendation. The MPL candidate’s
statement includes a CV and assessment of their personal and professional development during
the MPL course. The content structure of this assessment is set out in the appendix.

8. Colloquium
The colloquium is organised by the Certification Committee. The committee sets annual collo-
quium dates and locations. Colloquia are held in English or the local language. Two experts are
selected by the certification committee from the mentors list, to conduct the colloquium. The ba-
sis for the colloquium will be the written reports from the MPL candidate and mentor. The collo-
quium consists of a discussion with the goal of assessing the MPL candidate. The candidate may
reject the proposed experts and the MPL candidate can request an interpreter. The experts de-
cide on the MPL candidate’s certification.
The colloquium fees and experts’ remuneration are CHF 650.-/ € 500.-.
