一样 = same, 不一样 = not the same, 一样不一样 = same or not?
姐姐的衣服和妹妹的衣服一样不一样 (jǐejie de yīfu hé mèimei de yīfu yíyàng bù yíyàng) = Is older sister's
clothes the same to younger sister's clothes?
你不喜欢薯条？我也一样 (nǐ bù xǐhuān shǔtiáo? wǒ yě yíyàng)= You don't like French Fries? Me too.
你的发型和我的发型一样 (nǐ de fàxíng hé wǒ de fàxíng yíyàng) = Your hair style is the same to my
hairstyle
餐馆的味道和妈妈做的味道不一样 (cānguǎn de wèidào hé māma zuò de wèidào bù yíyàng) = The taste of
restaurants is not the same to what mom makes.
中国的文化和西方的文化不一样 (zhōngguó de wénhuà hé xīfāng de wénhuà bù yíyàng) = Chinese culture
is not the same to western culture.
电影院的感觉和在家看电影不一样 (diànyǐngyuàn de gǎnjué hé zài jiā kàn diànyǐng bù yíyàng) = The feel
of watching movies in movie theaters is not the same to watching movies at home.
纽约的天气和奥兰多很不一样 (niǔyuē de tiānqì hé àolánduō hěn bù yíyàng) = NY's weather is not the
same at all to Orlando's weather.

winter is as cold as DC's winter.

population is the same to Shanghai's population.
东京的消费和纽约的消费一样贵 (dōngjīng de xiāofèi hé niǔyuē de xiāofèi yíyàng guì) = The cost of living
in Tokyo is the same to NY
哥哥和弟弟一样喜欢运动 (gēge hé dìdi yíyàng xǐhuān yùndòng )= Older brother and younger brother both
like sports.
我今年和去年一样没有出国旅游 (wǒ jīnnián hé qùnián yíyàng méiyǒu chūguó lǚyóu) = This year and last
year were both the same, I didn't go traveling abroad.
在公司工作和在学校学习一样忙 (zài gōngsī gōngzuò hé zài xuéxiào xuéxí yíyàng máng) = Working at
company is as busy as studying at school.

I feel Shanghai's public transportation is convenient, LA's is more comfortable
