Appendix 2: MCT/MST Observation Feedback Form (template)

Course Code: EPC 3903

Trainee Name: Esra School: Al Shaeen
MCT/MST Name: Ms. Angela Date: October 24, 2019
The MCT and MST will use this form to formally observe the trainee’s performance and to give feedback
based on the selected teaching competencies.
NOTE: Refer to the course-specific, teaching competencies-based rubric included in section D of the TP Booklet

Commitment to the Profession F D C B A

Comments: When arriving at the school early. You demonstrated punctuality in arriving at the school
before the designated time. While observing in the class activity, materials were set up and ready for
students when assigned to the activitiy center. After having a pre-observation conversation, I could
see that you collaborated with the teacher on your Science Lesson. These traits demonstrate you are
committed to your teaching profession.

Planning for Learning F D C B A

Comments: The lesson plans were well thought out; however, there were many grammar mistakes.
Check your plans on Grammarly. The plans on your template well thought out; however, you are
missing tow components of the differentiation stretch. Esra makes sure you add more 21st century
skills. When planning your activities, try to make them individual so that all students can assess their
work. When there were partners, MOST of the boys took over the activity. One little girl wanted to
keep her picture in a square form, but he insists the picture be cut it in more detail. All Activities were
appropriate and for all different cognitive levels. Make sure write the video; the powerpoint point
slides in the lesson plans.

Managing Learning F D C B A
Comments: I like how you had the students repeat the objective and you activate prior knowledge by
asking a hook question. When the students started to drift into inappropriate behavior, you reminded
them of your particular rule to be entirely and make sure they take turns correctly. Make sure you do
not call on the same students. It was nice how you scaffold the UAE animals and discuss the falcon and
owl with sight. Your observation skills were keen when you discovered some of the class did not
understand your lesson, and you reverted to Arabic and switched right back to English. When a few
students only wanted to answer in Arabic, you remind students to use English. Students were
participating in the lesson and were completely involved. There were two carpets in the classroom,
and the students were older. Make use of both carpets are used during whole group so the girls could
feel more comfortable next to the boys. The students were addressing you as a teacher,do not let
them to the class call you Habla. Some of the powerpoint slides did not coincide with the lesson you
are teaching; this is a major mistake because a student was reading the slides and one student correct
you. For instance: Pay close attention to the picture had a dog, but the information was about places
to lay eggs; this does not make sense. The content did not match the picture.
Implementing Learning F D C B A
Comments: The whole group lesson was doing well until you showed the powerpoint slides was not
coherent. The dolphin slide dolphin should have been sonar hearing. Dog for smelling to find bones,
Monkey for touching and taking away flees of their young. Make sure write the video, the powerpoint
point slides. Do research you gave wrong information, Bats have low vision, and they can see. You
needed to close attention when explaining Echolocation, give the entire answer and information on
what it truly means. When sitting on the carpet, it would have been better to explain all of the
activities instead going one at a time. Explain all directions entirely on the carpet so all students. Make
sure you explain in more detail about the video and summarizing the content. Forwarn students to
clean up their area. Put glue sticks caps on and push in their chairs. The students are old enough to
have him and his partner to hold the poster and explain. Make sure the students stop and listen to
their classmates. Use the entire name for the word vocabulary it is not Vocab. You aim to teach
students words because this is allowing them to hear the proper name. When passing out your exit
tickets, students need to pass the paper out; less teacher-led more students' participation. Keep
control of the classroom by having students be quite. Very good, you wrote the questions on the
board.

Assessment F D C B A
Comments: You also use verbal feedback and observation and a checklist. Student self-assessment add
and student presentation.
Reflection on Practice F D C B A
Comments:
Esra learned through our post-observation discussion, and her reflection showed growth. Do not write
in red this is not APA standards.
Action Plan:
 Make sure all students can participate and give their impact in the activitiy.
 Explain activities to the whole group
 Inspect your powerpoint and learn your video.
 Have students to participate more and less teacher lead.
