This section is in-Charge of the following work:

. K.C.Canal Lift irrigation Scheme :-

Name of the Work: - “Investigation, design, Construction of 3 nos of pump house near
Mutchumarri village and about KM 60.000 and KM 40.000 of K.C Canal including design,
manufacture, supply, delivery of pumps and motors, pressure mains including all civil,
mechanical, electrical, allied work including power supply arrangements to pump houses at
KM 60.000 and KM 40.000 of K.C Canal including construction of 3nos of regulator across
K.C.Canal etc., complete and maintenance of the system for 15 years as per parameters
mentioned the bid schedule”.The work ws entrusted to M/s MEIL-MAYTAS-WPIL(JV) for Rs
75,21,54,713/- under EPC TurnKey system vide Superintending Engneer ,Irrigation Circle
Kurnool’s agreement No.30/2007-08 dt 18.02.2008.

NOTES OF WORKS OF K.C.CANALLIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME NEAR MUCHUMARRI VILLAGE

IN KURNOOL DISTRICT.

The K.C.Canal system provides irrigation facilities to 2.65 lakhs acers in Khariff and rabi
seasons I nKurnool and Kadapa Districts by utilisinf 39.30 TMC of water from Tungabadhra
river. Out of 39.90 TMC of water 10 TMC of water is from storage in Tungabadhra dam . This
assistance of 10 TMC of water is being used during lean flows in Tungabadhra river. However
, out of releases from Tungabadhra dam actual releases at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy
barrage (Sunkesula) has been very meargre. So supplementation became necessary. Hence
Lift irrigation sceme of K.C Canal has been envisaged to lift water from foreshore of NSRS
(Srisailam) project.

The scheme envisages to utilize 5.00 TMC of water , to stabilize the ayacut of K.C.Canal
from Krishna river from Srisailam reservoir through pumping.Water will be drawn from
intake located near Muchumarri village and conveyed through 2 Nos of 3 m dia M.S.Pipes
pressure mains into K.C.Canal from delivery cistern at Km 81.80 as the K.C.Canal is closer to
Srisailam reservoir near Sangameswaram .The two numbers of Sub lifts proposed on
K.C.Canal at Km 58.665 and Km 39.325 on cascade arrangement by constructing three
numbers of Regulators at Km 81.80 ,Km 60.00 and Km 40.00 to maintain the required head of
lifting water up stream of the proposed regulators on canal.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh have accorded Adminstrative approval for lifting
of 5.00 TMC of water from foreshore of Srisailam reservoir for K.C.Canal for a period of 60
days during needy days for an amount of Rs.120 Crores vide G.O .Ms No.196 I&CAD(PW.Maj .
Irri.V) Department , dated 31.08.2007.The work was awarded to the lowest tenderer M/S
MEIL-MAYTAS-WPIL(JV) for Rs 75,21,54,713/- under EPC TurnKey system vide
Superintending Engneer ,Irrigation Circle Kurnool’s agreement No.30/2007-08 dt 18.02.2008.

Present Status of work as on 17.11.2017

This section is incharge of Construction of

1. Main Pumphouse at Muchumarri: -Construction of Main pump house at

Muchumarri is completed except erection of 01 No of pumps ,motors out of 04 No

of Pumps , construction of Delievery cistern at Km 81.80 of K.C.Canal is completed

including laying 2 no of rows of 3 m dia pressure mains.This scheme is

inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister on 2nd January 2017. A total of 1.36 TMC of

water has been pumped though this scheme during January -17 through April -17

to the K.C.Canal ayacut.

2. Subpumphouse at Alluru (v):- The construction of Sub Pump House at Alluru

and Regulator @58.600 of K.C.Canal was Completed before I took Charge before

April 2016 . Fixing of 2.nos of motors and all the electrical equipment ,control

panels ,Transformer 650 KVA ,250 KVA generator ,power cables ,Painting and all

accessories etc including miscellaneous items complete during my tenure.

3. Sub PumpHouse at Padidampadu:- The construction of Sub Pumphouse and the

Regulator @ km 39.325 is completed before I took charge before April 2016.

Fixing of 2.nos of motors and all the electrical equipment ,control panels

,Transformers 650 KVA,power cables ,Painting and all accessories including

miscellaneous items were completed during my tenure.

Temporary Power supply :- Due to the urgency in completion of work and due to delay
of completion of 220 KV Substation by AP TRANSCO, a temporary substation 33/11 KV,
with 2 Nos 8 MVA Transformers was erected and commissioned during December 2016 for
inauguration of K.C.C Lift scheme .An amount of 6.84 Crores was paid to the APSPDCL
towards construction of temporary 33/11KV Substation .The substation functioned from
December 2016 to July 25th 2017 as 220 KV is completed and commissioned.

have been diverted to Sub Division no.3 Gadivenula during March 2016 vide Executive Engineer
Division No.1 lr no 72 m dt 18.03.2016 duly cancelling the services of Mr P.Bhargavaram,AEE
who is on medical leave. The following materials were available with this section.
