The study depicts that abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continuously
argued over for the past few years and probably for many more years to come. Women who are
making the decision are effected emotionally, mentally, and physically since their bodies are going
through many changes which it is not accustomed to. Women who have had abortions are at greater
risk of suffering emotional and psychological problems which may interfere with their ability to
concentrate, make decisions, and interact with others. Post-abortion women are more likely to
engage in drug and alcohol abuse, often as a result of the guilt and negative feelings held inside of
them after the abortion. Nonetheless, legal abortion help parents limit their families to the number
of children they want and can afford, both financially and emotionally. Many unwanted babies are
abused, neglected, or even killed by uncaring or immature parents. There is a lack of babies up for
adoption if abortion is legal. However, if abortion will not be legalized, women could go ahead
with the pregnancy and then give the baby up for adoption.

A controversial issue is one which results in dispute and disagreement due to a difference of
opinion. In this example of related literature, we can depict that the topic, which is “abortion” is
very controversial since there are two sides of abortion in the study: the pro-life, which is those
who are against abortion altogether, and the pro-choice, or those who believe it is the woman's
right to choose if she wants to have an abortion. The study deals with a variety of issues that may be
controversial due to differences of opinions and values. Dealing with controversial studies may become
highly emotional, particularly if they involve values, beliefs and ethical principles.
In order to resolve instances like this, the researchers must:
Clarify the nature of the conflict and the potential implications.
Plan how to deal with discussion and debate of the issue.
Be sensitive
Ensure that information is available to support all sides of the argument.
Avoid taking sides, remain neutral and objective.
In the example literature, the researchers handled the controversy by acknowledging that there may be
many and diverse views on the issue.
The Role of Packaging in Brand Communication
The research conducted shows that buyer interest is an important factor in package design and
companies are innovating in new ways to attract customers through attractive package designs.
Respondents seem to give weight to communication and comfort in handling packages. On the other
hand, respondents did not seem to give importance to environmental considerations and package
disposition which indicates that awareness needs to be created among people so they will prefer packages
that are easy to dispose and environmental friendly. The study also shows that if branded products are
given to people in ordinary packaging, they tend to accept them because they are more likely to give
attention to branded products rather than into the brand’s packages. Symbols and logos do not have a
significant impact on preferences for packages. Nonetheless, the results reveal that package form is a
significant communication attribute through packages and innovative package designs can help
differentiate brands from competitors. This is supported by the evidences that the marketing world is full
of brands that have used packaging to carve unique position in the market.

We need to evaluate the common assumptions of a related literature because this is useful if there are
several strands within the topic that can logically be considered separately before being brought together.
Research is built upon assumptions since a foundation is needed to move forward. Assumption provide
basis to conduct the research study
Assumptions are basically beliefs and ideas that we hold to be true. Based on beliefs, the researchers
attempt to discover the correlation.
“Effectiveness of planned teaching on the knowledge of staff nurses working in psychiatric unit
regarding Physical Restraints for psychiatric patient in selected hospitals of Vidharbha region”
- Awareness of the alternative use of physical restraint is inadequate among nursing staff
- Every nursing student is taught about Physical restraint during basic nursing training
programme.
The power of an experiment is only as strong as the clarity of the basic assumptions which
underlie it.
Assumptions are the foci for any theory and thus any paradigm. It is also important that
assumptions are made explicit, and that the number of assumptions is sufficient to describe the
phenomenon at hand.
It does not matter if they are true, only if they are useful.
A critical thinker, however, is attentive to these assumptions because they are
sometimes incorrect or misguided. Just because we assume something is true doesn't
mean it is.
Think carefully about your assumptions when finding and analyzing information but also
think carefully about the assumptions of others. Whether you're looking at a website or a
scholarly article, you should always consider the author's assumptions. Are the author's
conclusions based on assumptions that she or he hasn't thought about logically?
