INTRODUCTION
Photography is a process of recording visuals as a still image, by capturing
the reflected rays of light from the subject on a light sensitive recording
medium (film or digital CCD).

There are various different types of photography, some of them require

special knowledge (for example :- scientific photography), where as almost
every other type of photography involves the same basic principles of
obtaining a clear, sharp image through a lens and onto the recording
medium.

The very basic gadget reqiure for capturing stills and images and in other
words to photograph things, is a ‘camera’. There has been different
technologies introduced by camera manufacturers time to time. The most
recent technology that almost every camera company is using is digital
sensors. The most common type of camera sensors are charged coupled
device (CCD) and complimentry metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS).

Traditional photography used to be based on film as the recording medium

where as modern photography is completely based on digital processes
which is an electronic process.

The basic parts of a camera includes a lens and its sensor. Lens is also known
as the the optical part of the camera assembly. All the incoming light rays
travel through the lens and falls on the recording medium (which is an image
sensor these days).

Like all arts, good photography requires practice, patience and hardwork. It
takes years to a photographer to learn about composition, framing and all
othert critical elements of photography.

With the digitalisation in the modern world everything has come to fingertips,
with just a click anybody can look after for anything and everything on the
internet. Hence it becomes really important for both the manufacturers and
the customers to share photographs of the goods and services. A salesmen or
the manufacturer uploads his products on the web from where the customers
purchase it after seeing it.

CASE STUDY - Camerographer

Camerographer means “an individual who takes picturtes with a camera”, as
the name of the organization suggests, it is a company engaged in providing
all sort of photography to their potential clients. The company is not bounded
for any particualr genre of photography but provide photography services in
almost every sector. Other services that they serve with are corporate films,
videography for various government institutions and photography services
for many corporate multi-national companies.

They can also provide complete assistance to organizations regarding

production work. Right from the ground level shooting to processing them
on high end computers and softwares.

Company’s main motto is to bring smile on the faces of its customers and
they keep client support as their utmost priority. The professionals working in
the company are experts and are experienced in Photoshop, Final cut Pro,
Premier Pro and other Adobe softwares as well.

AIM :- The aim of this study was to understand the role and functioning of
Photography in the business sector.

OBJECTIVES :-

 Understanding the basics of photography.

 Understanding the basics of photo editing.
 Learning the operation of DSLR camera.
 Learning Architecture photography for hotels and restrauants.

COMPANY I WORKED FOR

 OYO Rooms :- OYO Rooms was founded in the year 2012 by Ritesh
Agarwal from Odisha. He launched Oravel Stays, a website for listing
and booking budget lodging. After months of research and check-in to
couple of hundreds of hotels, he changed the name Oravel Stays to
OYO Rooms. The Company’s present headquarter is based in
Gurugram, India. OYO Rooms is the biggest budget lodging website of
its own kind in the country and provides services in almost every nig
city and town of the country. It’s expanding its business and it has
expanded itself to countries like United Kingdom, India, China, Malaysia,
Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Japan. On an average the company
gets almost 450,000 listings per day from all over these countries. The
company also operates OYO Homes in which they give an entire home
or property on rent to their clients for a fixed period of time.

FINDINGS and ANALYSIS

As an intern I worked in Camerographer, a reputed photography services

company in Delhi, India. There were no fixed timings of my office as I used to
go on photoshoots of different properties of OYO Rooms across various cities
such as Pune, Patna, Hyderabad, Delhi and Manali.

On the very first day of my internship I was introduced with my seniors and
was given a brief introduction about what happens in the company and how
it works. My mentor made me learn about the basic of photography. Then I
was asked to operate camera and other important equipments used during
the photoshoot.

After couple of attempts of architecture photography in Delhi, I was sent to

Hyderabad for other big projects of OYO Rooms and Fab Hotels. I went there
along with my mentor and covered all the properties in few days and then we
were asked to shoot at other cities that I mentioned above. In the internship
of one month I learnt architecture photography and various different aspects
related to it.

CONCLUSION
My overall experience in the organization was full of great learning. I got a lot
of exposure as I got to meet industry professionals working there and made
direct contact with them by working and learning under them. It was an
endless experience as I went there as a fresher. I got a great understanding
about photography after spending time with my mentor on ground zero and
shooting architecture for hours and hours. I also got to know that how precise
the shots are suppose to be in the industry and how tough the job is to take
out shots that are least distracted and covers almost everything about the
building. I have become more confident as a professional by working under
an experienced team of an esteemed organization where I have gained
essential skills like discipline, time mangement and accuracy.
