AUTHOR GUIDELINES

UNIVERSITAS PAKUAN

1. GENERAL GUIDELINES
a. Manuscript is the summary of research.
b. Manuscript is prepared in Bahasa Indonesia or in English.
c. Paper size A4 and margins as follows:
Top = 3,5 cm Bottom = 3,5 cm
Left = 3,5 cm Right = 2,0 cm
d. Header 2,5 cm dan footer 2 cm.
e. Font Calibri with size 11.
f. Manuscript consists of about 8-15 pages and written in 1 spacing.
g. Page layout using two (2) column (equal with column) and column spacing 1,0 cm.
Except for title, author information, and abstract is in one (1) column.
h. Every subtitle isn’t numbered, font Calibri with size 11 and bold.
i. New paragraph is written indent, use indent-first line 0,75 cm.
j. Foreign words are written in italic text, except for the article which is written in English.
k. Numerical is written in number except numeral in the first sentence and integers less
than ten should be spelled.
l. Numbering and bullet are avoided in text.

2. WRITING OUTLINE
a. First section consists of:
i. Title
ii. Author’s name
iii. Abstract

b. Main Section consists of:


i. Introduction
ii. Literature review and hypotheses development (if necessary)
iii. Research method
iv. Result and discussion
v. Conclusion
c. Last section consists of:
i. Symbol information (if necessary)
ii. Reference: Harvard style, and Mendeley (recommended)

3. TITLE AND AUTHOR’S NAME


a. Title format: font Calibri, font size 12 pt, bold, one spacing, and not exceed of 14
words.
b. Author’s name is written below the article title use the format: font calibri, 11 font size,
without any academic degree, no abbreviation. Author’s name is sorted from the first
author, second author, etc.
c. The author’s university and city are stated, however only the first author’s e-mail is
included, written below author’s name, font calibri, 10 pt and italic text.

4. ABSTRACT
a. Abstract is prepared in Bahasa Indonesia and in English for Bahasa Indonesia article,
while for article in English, abstract is prepared in English only. The abstract consists
of: the core problem/research background/phenomena, how to solve that problem, and
research result.
b. Abstract format: font Calibri, 11 pt font size, justify without indent for the first
sentence.
c. Abstract consist of 100-200 words in one paragraph.
d. Abstract is followed with key words that consist of 3 – 5 word. Key words written in
bold text.

5. REFERENCE
a. Reference should comply with the Harvard Referencing Standard.
b. All that listed in reference should be referenced in the manuscript.
c. At least 80% of reference are published within 10 years.
6. ADDITIONAL RULES
6.1 Formula
Mathematical formula should be written clearly by using Microsoft Equation or similar
application as follows:

6.2 Table
a. Every table should be titled and numbered according to the table sequence, and table
information indicates the table content.
b. Title is written above the table (justify).
c. Source should be note below the table except self-processing source.

6.3 Image/Figure
a. Every figure should be titled and numbered according to the figure sequence, and
information indicates the figure content.
b. Title is written below the figure (justify).
c. Figure source should be note below the figure.

6.4 Citation
1. Citation on text is written between open and close parenthesis mentioning author’s name and
year with a comma.
2. One author: (Haqi, 2009), two authors: (Haqi and Enok, 2009), more than two author (Haqi
et al.,. 2009)
3. Citation with more than one source, different author (Haqi, 2009; Enok, 2010)
4. Citation with more than one source, the same author (Haqi, 2009, 2010)
5. Refereeing to author with more than one article in the same year, use letter a, b, … after year
on citation e.g. (Haqi, 2009a, 2009b) or (Haqi, 2009a, Enok, 2010b)
6. When author’s name is mentioned on citation: “Haqi (2009) said that ………..”
7. If source of citation from an institution should mention the acronym of the institution, (IAI,
2009).

6.5 Footnote
1. Footnote is written in the footnote area of the page on the same page with the relevant text.
2. The format: font Calibri , 9 pt font size, 1 spacing.
3. Footnote is numbered according to the relevant text and the number is superscripted.
4. Footnote sentence should not be cut down to the next page. Too long sentences should be
concise.
