Stock Market Crash

Relevant SC Standards:
5.2.CO Compare the cultural and economic impacts of the 1929 Stock Market Crash on the U. S.
and South Carolina.
This indicator was developed to promote inquiry into how life changed in the U.S. and South
Carolina after the stock market crash of 1929. The indicator was also developed to promote
inquiry into how life in the 1920s differed from life in the 1930s in both the U.S. and South
Carolina.
Examine the primary causes of World War I and the events which led to U.S. involvement.
This indicator was developed to promote inquiry into how the rise of ideologies in Europe led to
division and conflict among nations resulting in World War I. Further, inquiry is encouraged
through the exploration of the changing position of the U.S. from the beginning of the war in
Europe to its eventual involvement.
5.2.P Summarize how the role of the federal government expanded during the period.

Description: This app lesson will help the students to understand the 5th grade Social Studies
lessons ; based on the Stock market crash and how this made life different for Americans

Instructional Objective:
- Students will be able to understands the changes in the economy and what happened
following the crash of the stock market

Step 1: Content-Based or Skill-Based App: students will use kahoot to find a content based
game based on the stock market crash; while playing the game students should write down
questions they have that they have gotten wrong while playing the kahoot game

Step 4: Creation-Based App: Students will use quizlet to make their own flash cards based on
any questions that they have missed throughout today’s lesson, include the question, answer and
