Vacant to vibrant dc AUCTION, WINNER bidder list

DC DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT


Vacant to Vibrant DC is Mayor Muriel Bowser’s five-point action plan that will transform
vacant space in the inventory of DHCD’s Property Acquisition and Disposition Division into
workforce housing and creative green and play space, and spur economic development.

Overview
During a five-day auction held by Alex Cooper
Auctioneers in January, all 33 sites received bids.
Upon completion, the properties will be sold to
households earning no more than $132,350 for a
family of four (120 percent of the Median Family
Income [MFI]).
Several initial administrative steps were fulfilled
by the winning bidders in the weeks after the
auction ended January 23, to include submitting
deposits and signing auction purchase and sale
agreements.
Next, the bidders will follow DHCD’s property disposition process, which included briefings on February 27 and
March 1, where they received procedural information from DHCD and other District government agencies.
Next steps include public hearings on April 4 and April 5, DC Council review, and design review of the bidders’
development plans.
