PLOT BY CHAPTER

Chapter 1: Night in the City


- The first encounter with the devious character Edward Hyde. It was two o'clock in the morning when
Richard Enfield
walked back to his home in the city.
- He saw Hyde trampled a child and went after him for an explanation.

Chapter 2: The Signature


- In this chapter the doctor finds that the child was shocked by the incident. The cruel [Link] insist
that it was an
accident.
- [Link] wants to call the police but Richard Enfield proposed that Hyde pay a compensation to the
girl's family.
- Hyde agreed to pay 100 pounds, 10 pounds in gold coins and 90 pounds in a cheque as compensation
to Edie's
family.
- As [Link] did not have any money or a cheque with him, he took Richard and Edie's father to his
house- an hour
walk in a seedy part of London.

Chapter 3: Blackmail House- In this chapter Richard Enfield and his uncle,[Link], go for their
Sunday afternoon walks together.
- One of their walks ended at the street where [Link] entered a building to get the money.
- Richard relates the incident and the signature on the cheque to [Link], who is also [Link]'s
lawyer and good
friend.
- [Link] is curious and wants to investigate Edward Hyde.

Chapter 4: In Search of [Link]- In this chapter, [Link] reads [Link]'s will and is worried
about [Link] and his connection with [Link].
- In the will,[Link] had stated that should anything happen to [Link], all his money and property
shall go to Edward
Hyde
- [Link] sought the help of [Link], [Link]'s friend.
- He waited at the doors of Blackmail House to look at [Link].
- He approached [Link] and spoke to him. Hyde was rude and shouted at [Link] and called
him a liar because
they have a common friend in [Link].

Chapter 5: [Link]
- In this chapter, [Link] suspects that [Link] is being blackmailed. He believes that [Link]
may even kill
[Link] to get hold of the wealth.
- [Link] asks [Link] about Edwrad Hyde but [Link] does not cooperate and tells
[Link] to keep quiet
about [Link]. He intends to get rid of him one day.
- [Link] has to excute the will as instructed by [Link].

Chapter 6: The Carew Murder Case- In this chapter, Sir Danver Carew was beaten to death in front of
his home.
- [Link] is the suspect as the servant witnessed the murder.
- [Link] helps the police to hunt for Edward Hyde.
- The inspector found [Link]'s cheque stub that was not burnt in the fireplace. With this evidence
the inspector and
[Link] went to the bank to catch the culprit. However he did not turn up at the bank to
withdraw money. When
questioned, the bank employers all remembered that [Link] looked deformed.

Chapter 7: The Letter


- In this chapter, [Link] confronted [Link] about Sir Danver Carew's murder. He asked him if
he had hidden
[Link]. [Link] claimed that he will cut all ties with [Link] and told about a letter sent by
[Link].
- [Link] read the letter which states that [Link] regretted his actions and will find ways to
disappear. When
[Link] asked for the envelope, [Link] said he had burnt it. [Link] took the letter and
gave it to
[Link], his chief clerk who noticed that the writing in the letter and the invitation sent by [Link]
was the same.

Chapter 8: The Terror of [Link]


- In this chapter, [Link] disappeared after the death of Sir Danver Carew.
- [Link] socialized with his friends before he return to his lonely and mysterious life again.
- [Link] met with [Link] before he died. A few days after [Link] died, he left an
envelope for [Link].
Inside the envelope was another envelope, instructing [Link] to open it only when [Link]
disappeared or died.
[Link] was puzzled with the word "disappeared" used by both [Link] in his will and in
[Link]'s instructions.

Chapter 9: The Face at the Window

- In this chapter, [Link] and his nephew [Link] went for their usual Sunday afternoon walks
which ended at
the back of [Link]'s house, they talked to [Link] at the window of his lab.
- [Link] saw [Link] changed into [Link].

Chapter 10: The Last Night


- In this chapter, Poole runs to [Link]'s house to inform him that [Link] had shut himself in
the lab for a week.
- [Link] heard a stranger's voice in [Link]'s lab.
- [Link] and Poole suspected [Link] may be murdered by [Link]
- They broke down the lab's door and found [Link] dead but no sign of [Link].

Chapter 11: The Disappearance

- In this chapter, [Link] and Poole looked around the house and laboratory for [Link], they
suspected that
[Link] had been murdered and buried somewhere.
- They went back to the lab to search for some clues and evidence. [Link] found some chemicals
which were
heaped and measured. There was also a long mirror in the lab.
- Then [Link] found an envelope addresses to him with the altered will. In the will he found that
[Link] had
made him the beneficiary.
- There was another letter regarding [Link]'s letter about [Link].

Chapter 12: Dr. Lanyon's Statement- In this chapter, [Link] described the contents of [Link]'s
letter he received on January 9. In the letter [Link]
begs [Link] to take the drawer from his study and deliver it to a person who claimed to be
[Link] ( is actually
[Link])in Cavendish [Link] examined the things in the drawer, there were some
powders, a bottle of
red liquid and a book containing a series of dates.
- [Link] followed [Link]'s instructions for the sake of their friendship and because [Link]'s life
was at stake.
- [Link] witnessed [Link] transformed to [Link].

Chapter 13: [Link] Jekyll's Full Statement of the Case- In this chapter, [Link] told his life story
and wrote his final confession..
