THE PMS YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Youth Internship Program (YIP) is a year-round program that initiates the
students and out-of-school youths into public service by providing the participants
practical work experience involving government programs and projects.

The PMS - YIP aims to:

1. Provide opportunities for the youth to use their knowledge, talents and skills in
worthwhile activities and expose them to actual government operations;
2. Instill among the youth awareness on the Presidents policies as well as his
priority programs and projects;
3. Provide training and financial assistance to support the youth participants
educational and career development requirements;
4. Serve as recruitment mechanism; and
5. Augment PMS manpower for technical and/or administrative needs.

The PMS - YIP has two (2) primary components, namely:


1. Student Practicum Program (SPP) an internship program for undergraduate
and graduating college students who would like to hold their office
practicum/on-the-job training in government to fulfill a requirement for their
graduation.

2. Government Internship Program (GIP) - an internship program for students


and out-of-school youth, who are financially in need but possess above average
skills and potentials. GIP interns will receive a daily stipend as a form of
assistance for at least two (2) months but not to exceed three (3) months of
service.

TO QUALIFY:

For the Student Practicum Program:


Must be in the college level
Must possess above average skills and potentials
Of good moral character

For the Government Internship Program:


Must be a student or out-of-school youth
Must be between 18-25 years old
Must be financially in need
Must possess above average skills and potentials
Of good moral character
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

For the Student Practicum Program:


Recommendation letter (indicating the number of required OJT hours)
duly signed by the practicum adviser/coordinator or school official
Letter of intent from the student
Updated resume with recent 2x2 colored ID picture
Certificate of Good Moral Character signed by the schools guidance
counsellor

For the Government Internship Program:


Letter of intent
Updated resume with recent 2x2 colored ID picture
Barangay clearance
