Goal
Build positive relationships between the community, parents, other
colleagues, and students both in my class and outside of my class
Rationale
I have included this because teaching is a career where we as educators must
collaborate with all people. In my PSI and PSII I was never involved in
integrating the community and parents into the classroom. I want to be a
teacher that can be approachable whether or not there is an issue present.
Related KSA(s)
KSA 12: the importance of engaging parents, purposefully and
meaningfully, in all aspects of teaching and learning. They know how
to develop and implement strategies that create and enhance partnerships
among teachers, parents and students;
KSA 13: student learning is enhanced through the use of home and
community resources. They know how to identify resources relevant to
teaching and learning objectives, and how to incorporate these resources into
their teaching and students learning;

Goal
Create a positive learning environment, where a variety of management
strategies are used for transitions and both positive and negative student
behaviors
Rationale
I have included this because I believe this is an area that is still needing
improvement. In my PSI and PSII that classes that I worked in were very easy
to manage. Going into PSIII I want to experiment with different transitions and
attention getters to see what works best for me and the class I am teaching.
Related KSA(s)
KSA 7: Students needs for physical, social, cultural and
psychological security. Know how to engage students in creating effective
classroom routines. Know how and when to apply a variety of management
strategies, in keeping with the situation, that provide for minimal disruptions
to learning.
Indicator(s) of Success

Transitioning into the first lesson of the day in under 5 minutes using SMART board timer
(will keep notes in lesson plan reflections if was done or not)
Less students off task, yelling out, fighting, or not finishing work (keep a tally of both
positive and negative behaviors)

Action
Use management strategies to
encourage positive behaviors, and
discourage negative behaviors
Use management strategies to grab
the students attention, to move from
one task to another
