Pool Lifeguard (Part-time)

University of Nottingham - University Park Swimming Pool
Salary: 7.62 or 7.82 per hour (only regular weekend workers will qualify for the higher
rate)
Applications are invited for the above post based at the University Park Swimming pool,
University of Nottingham.
Duties will include, supervision of the swimming pools activities, ensuring the health, safety
and welfare of bathers and to provide immediate first aid and rescue when required. To
maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the pool and related
areas, taking payments and dealing with enquiries in person, by telephone and providing
a general point of contact at the reception desk for customers. To assist the team of Duty
Managers with the daily operation of the facility.
Candidates should have an excellent telephone manner and the ability to work calmly and
professionally when under pressure. Previous experience of working in a similar clientfocussed role, especially in a sporting environment, is essential. Evidence of managing
cash-handling/reconciliation processes, and a valid first aid qualification are also
desirable.
Hours of work are up to 14 per week. Available hours are Thursday 11.30am - 7.00pm and
Saturday 12.00pm - 7.30pm.

University of Edinburgh - EDINA
Salary: 30,122 to 35,938 per annum
Your role will be to provide technical support on a high profile project creating technical
services that support digital repositories of research literature and related scholarly outputs in
UK Higher and Further Education institutions. You will establish technical support processes,
and provide support to technical staff in other organisations to use these services.
You will be a graduate in a computing related discipline with at least two years relevant work
experience, or equivalent, with significant experience of providing technical support.
Experience of testing and use of tools such as JMeter and Selenium are desirable. You will
have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate flexibility, initiative problem
solving and testing skills on digital services infrastructure.
A secondment of 1-2 years would be welcome.
This post is fixed-term for two years.
