Sensational acceleration, immediate planing and superior mid-range throttle response delivered by the 8.2L V8 powerhouse. Smooth operation and unsurpassed responsiveness with the standard DTS (Digital Throttle & Shift) system. 65 % more power generated by the 65 Amp, highoutput alternator that maintains the battery charge and powers your electronic accessories.
EASY OWNERSHIP
When it comes to developing a product that is easy to maintain, MerCruiser has it covered. From simple-to-access oil lters to straight forward service directions, owning a MerCruiser engine has never been easier. Easily check or add lubricant from inside the boat with the engine-mounted drive lube monitor. Draining water is a snap with MerCruisers standard single-point air-actuated water drain system. Oil changes are cleaner, quicker and simpler via convenient top-mounted remote oil lter and threaded dipstick tube. Checking uid levels is simple and straightforward using color-coded service points. The 8.2L runs on less-expensive and easy-to-nd 87 octane fuel.
PROVEN RELIABILITY
By working in collaboration with Mercury Racing, MerCruiser developed a bulletproof big block able to stand up to the rigors of everyday marine use. Industry-leading anti-corrosion protection featuring MerCruisers closed cooling, MerCathode galvanic corrosion-prevention system and optional SeaCore system. The exclusive Engine Guardian protection system provides protection from overheating, low oil pressure or low drive lube levels. Engine Guardian virtually eliminates any chance for engine damage.
