Dear Parent or
Guardian,
Your child has been given the opportunity
to
attend a field trip
to
the

Vulcan Park and Museum in

Birmingham, AL, on Monday, May 23rd, 2016. Our
class has been learning about the Great Depression all of this month. This
field trip to the Vulcan Park and Museum will be a great experience for
students, as they get the opportunity to learn more about the effects of the
Great Depression on the city of Birmingham. Students should wear a Trace
Crossings shirt the day of the field trip. The buses will be departing Trace
Crossings Elementary at 9:30 AM and arriving at the Vulcan Park and
Museum by 10:00 AM. At 1:00 PM the buses will be departing the Vulcan
Park and Museum and will arrive back at Trace Crossings by 1:30PM. At

12:00 PM students will eat lunch at the picnic tables of Vulcan Park, which is
located next to the museum. Students may bring their own bagged lunch or
Trace Crossings will provide their lunch. Please sign the form below
indicating whether your child will be bringing their own lunch or eating the
Trace Crossings provided lunch. Personal belongings and electronics will not
be allowed on the bus or at the museum, so please tell your child to leave
those at home. The bus fee is covered under our field trip budget. However,
the cost of admission to the museum is $5.00 per student or chaperone.
This means that if you would like to chaperone, you must pay the admission
fee for both you and your child, which comes out to be $10.00.
For this field trip, I am going to need 4 chaperones. If you are
interested in chaperoning, please email me by May 13th, 2016.
Please cut, sign, and return the permission slip below no later than
Wednesday, May 18th, 2016. Please place the $5 dollars required for
the field trip in an envelope with your childs name on it to give to
the teacher.
If you plan on chaperoning, the cost of admission is an additional
$5. Please include this money with your childs cost of admission in
an envelope (see above).

a student needs water to take his or her medicine.
Medication can only be administered if it is brought
on the field trip by the teacher.
