VISION 2020: Global
Initiative
• A flagship program of IAPB and WHO and
is a functional convergent model (eye care
community) of INGOs, eye care
organizations, professionals and country
specific national programs.
•
Aim is to work together to eliminate
avoidable blindness worldwide by the year
2020, in order to give everyone in the world
the Right to Sight.

is a National confederate Body to
strengthen the implementation of the
Vision 2020 activities in alignment to
national objectives and targets and
thus contribute to the elimination of
avoidable blindness.

Our Mission
To work with eye care organizations in India for
the elimination of avoidable blindness by
provision of equitable and affordable services as
well as rehabilitation of visually challenged
persons through development of appropriate
policies, quality standards, advocacy, training,
and promotion of best practices with a special
emphasis on the poor and marginalized sections
of society and underserved areas
