SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (November, 8 to November 14, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:
There was a general downward tendency in the prices. All scrap categories, except a few, recorded decline when compared with the previous week.
The largest price drop of the week was seen in 6063 Extrusions/Fe, which recorded a decrease from $0.65 per pound to $0.62 per pound. The commodity saw a 4.62% weekly price decrease. 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF also reported modest decline in price over the previous week, falling by 4.41% and 4.35%, respectively.

Breakage 50% Recovery, Aluminum Radiators, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Chrome Wheels, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and E.C. Aluminum Wire prices reported decline over the previous week.
In contrast, no change in price was seen in Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers.
6063 Extrusions/Fe prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 4.62% decline from $0.65 per Lb to $0.62 per Lb. Also, modest weekly declines by 4.41% and 4.35% were seen in 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF.
The rest of the scrap aluminium categories, except a few, recorded week-over-week decline.
The least declines were seen in 5052 Scrap and Breakage 50% Recovery.
In the meantime, prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady during the week ending November 14, 2024.
The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were 6063 Extrusions/Fe, 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF.
The 6063 Extrusions/Fe prices ended the week at $0.61 per Lb, down from the previous week’s price of $0.64 per Lb.
Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF to $0.64 per Lb each.

The other commodities to register week-on-week dip in prices were Breakage 50% Recovery, Aluminum Radiators, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Chrome Wheels, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and E.C. Aluminum Wire prices.
The prices of the region’s majority of scrap aluminum categories continued to fall week over week.
The scrap categories to dip the most were 6063 Extrusions/Fe and 6061 Extrusions, whose prices recorded declines by 4.55% and 4.41% respectively over the previous week. Zorba 90% NF prices recorded fall from $0.69 per Lb to $0.66 per Lb.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers witnessed no variation during the week
The Chinese aluminum scrap prices edged lower over the week.
Aluminum Transformers saw its prices decrease from CNY 9,850 per MT to CNY 9,200 per MT during the week.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices declined by 5.97% each. Also, 6063 Extrusions prices dropped marginally from CNY 19,450 per MT to CNY 18,300 per MT during the course of the week.
Also, Aluminum Radiators, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum Ingots prices witnessed decline in weekly prices.
The prices of scrap aluminum utensils saw a little decrease of 3.43%, falling from INR 233,000 per Ton to INR 225,000 a tonne during the week ending on November 14, 2024.

The prices of Aluminum ingots also were down by 3.31% during the week.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained constant during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,526.00 per tonne as of November 14, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract inched lower from $2,514.00 a day before to $2,504.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 721,475 tonnes on November 14, 2024, down slightly from 724,100 tonnes on November 13, 2024.
