Adam Schefter broke NFL suspension news in the middle of sex

I’ll never read a late-night Schefter tweet the same again.

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.

It takes a lot of self-sacrifice to be an NFL insider, and Adam Schefter’s dedication to the craft is second to none. On Wednesday the ESPN personality was asked on This is Football about the weirdest place he’s every broken a story and... well... it was sex. He was having sex.

“I can remember being in Denver one time and I was, how do I say this? I just spent time with this woman for the first time, and got a text that Dale Carter was being suspended. I think it was for eight games for substance abuse. So I continued to lay there, confirm it, and got the job done, Kevin. In every which way.”

We can actually pinpoint when Adam was having sex because of this news, by the way. I’m sorry but this is important science. Schefter joined the Denver Post in 1996, and served as the Broncos beat writer until 2004. The NFL announced that Carter (a member of the Broncos at the time) was being suspended on April 25, 2000 — and if Schefter was getting the news first, we can presume that he was called on the evening of April 24.

So, if you’re a woman who had sex with Adam Schefter on the night of April 24, 2000 then congrats — because you’re now a part of this story.
