Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season settled some things at the top of the standings. FOr example, the Pittsburgh Steelers took control in the AFC North with an 18-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Then in the much-anticipated game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, Josh Allen and company knocked the Chiefs from the ranks of the unbeaten.

The Sunday slate also settled something at the bottom of the standings.

Thanks to a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, the Jacksonville Jaguars moved into pole position for the first-overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Whether Doug Pederson will be around to make that pick, however, remains to be seen ...

Who has the No. 1 pick right now?

As with last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars are in pole position for the first-overall selection next spring. Sunday’s blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, along with the New York Giants on a bye week, moved Jacksonville into that position

What teams are in contention for the 2025 NFL Draft No. 1 pick?

Certainly the Jaguars are at the top of that list.

However, there are several teams sitting just behind them, with matching 2-8 records. Those teams are the Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the New York Giants, who were idle in Week 11.

It is worth noting that that Titans and the Jaguars have a pair of games against each other left this season.

There are also a few teams with three wins that could be in the mix. Those teams include the New England Patriots, the New York Jets, the Carolina Panthers, and the Dallas Cowboys, who play Monday night against the Houston Texans.

What games matter in Week 12 for the No. 1 pick?

Monday night’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans is noteworthy, because a loss would keep the Cowboys with three wins, and in that cluster of teams still in the hunt for the first-overall selection.

But looking ahead to Week 12, the biggest game for draft purposes might be the AFC East clash between the Patriots (3-8) and the Dolphins (4-6). The loser of that game will see their already-slim playoffs hopes likely erased, but their chances at the first-overall pick improve.

Thursday Night Football between the Browns (2-8) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-2) could see the Browns inch closer to the top pick with the loss.
