Del Mar Foundation hosting two Halloween events
The Del Mar Foundation has two events planned for Sunday, Oct. 27: the annual Halloween Dog Parade & Costume Competition followed by the Young Del Mar Seaside Spooktacular.
The Halloween Dog Parade & Costume Competition will take place at Powerhouse Park with check-in opening at 1:30 p.m. Ribbons will be awarded for best costume in a number of categories including Scariest, Funniest, Best Duo – dog and child, Most Embarrassed (dog), and more. Halloween at Del Mar Highlands Town Center
On Thursday, Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m. Del Mar Highlands Town Center will host trick or treating with center vendors. Pick up trick or treating maps at the pop jet fountain and enjoy character meets at themed areas throughout the center such as the Enchanted Realm near Cinepolis and the Pirate Cove at the Sky Deck. Haunted Ghost Town Ovation

Breeders Cup pop-up at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe

9th Annual SPOT Howl-O-Wine fundraiser at Del Mar Social
The 9th Annual SPOT Howl-O-Wine fundraiser will be held Sunday, Oct. 27 from noon-3 p.m. at Del Mar Social. The event will raise funds to benefit SPOT (Saving Pets One At A Time), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for the homeless dogs and cats in North County San Diego that are at risk for euthanasia. North Coast Symphony presents “Suite Dreams”

The historic grounds of the Olivenhain Meeting Hall will be transformed into a Haunted Hotel on Friday and Saturday nights on the weekend of Oct. 25-26 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Put on every year as a fundraiser for the local Boy Scout Troop 2000 and the Olivenhain Town Council, there will be spooky scenes ranging from a Zombie Banquet, Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory and a Witches’ Lair to a Candy Mystery Trail. Salute to Paws 5K and festival
Locally based nonprofit Shelter to Soldier will put on its inaugural Salute to Paws 5K and Gratitude Festival for Dogs starting at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at Naval Training Center Park in Liberty Station, 2455 Cushing Road. Proceeds go to the nonprofit, which rescues dogs from local shelters and trains them to become service animals for post-9/11 veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, among other injuries. La Jolla Music Society Fall 2024 Courtyard Concert Series

Poway Symphony Orchestra to open 2024-2025 Concert Season with famed Romeros Guitar Quartet
The Poway Symphony Orchestra will open its 21st concert season with “A Trip to Spain with The Romeros,” presenting a program of lively Spanish-inspired music and featuring the world-renowned Romeros guitar quartet. The Romeros will be joining the Poway Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto Andaluz for four guitars and orchestra.
