It's a typically busy Christmas Day on the small screen and here are just some of the unmissable shows that should satisfy the greatest couch potato . . . Happy Christmas everyone!

Brendan O'Carroll, Jennifer Gibney and Danny O'Carroll are back with the latest festive escapades from Finglas.

Christmas arrives at the Brown household but it seems that Agnes is struggling to find the festive spirit as she fails to convince her family she is not grumpy.

Cathy then pulls the community together in support of a good cause and Buster sources a sustainable tree.

Followed at 9.30pm by The Young Offenders Christmas special, which finds Mairéad and Sgt Healy nervously awaiting the birth of their baby.

Conor is keen to help them out but he proves clueless at housework.

Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, 9.00pm, BBC One

After the cliffhanger ending of 2019, the sitcom returns one final time to find out whether Smithy said 'yes' - and what else is going on with the Shipmans and Wests.

Seventeen years of marriage has found Gavin and Stacey in a bit of a rut so they are looking for ways to spice things up, while Nessa is launching a new business now that Neil the Baby is starting an apprenticeship with his dad.

Meanwhile, Bryn prepares for a trip to Essex and Gwen is behaving very strangely.

Over in Billericay, Pam is stressing out about playing hostess - and a newly retired Mick practising his golf swings in the living room is not helping.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Foul, 6.10pm, BBC One

Animated adventure, with the voices of Ben Whitehead, Reece Shearsmith and Peter Kay, thaty sees the much-loved man and his dog return for another Aardman Christmas cracker.

After a recent crime wave hits gardeners across the region, Wallace and his pre-programmed smart gnome, Norbot, are the main suspects.

While the inventor proclaims his innocence, it's up to faithful hound Gromit to battle sinister forces.

Despite being locked up for his previous crimes, a certain penguin might have something to do with recent events.

Doctor Who: Joy to the World, 5.10pm, BBC One

The latest festive edition of the fantasy saga stars Ncuti Gatwa as the beloved Time Lord, while our own Nicola Coughlan pops up as the titular Joy.
