Wigan band The Lilacs have released their new single, Where You've Been Hiding, from their upcoming EP The 395 (To Forever). We asked the band’s front man Ollie Anglesea the BIG questions . . .
Speaking about the new track, Ollie says, "We’re absolutely buzzing to release Where’ve You Been Hiding. It’s been a while since we last released music, so we’re overjoyed to put this one out into the world.

"We’ve definitely turned things up a notch with this track and almost it feels like the start of a new era of The Lilacs. The song explores relationships in today’s world, where media, politics, and everything in between can really complicate things."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
Huge Manchester City Fan. My guilty pleasure is Robbie Williams. Before we became the front man of the band, I was actually the drummer.
How would you describe your music?
Our music is high-energy indie pop that dives into the moments everyone knows but doesn’t always talk about - misspent youth, the highs and lows of love, late-night parties, and everything in between. We write songs that feel real and relatable, with lyrics that capture everyday experiences. Whether it’s a story of young love, finding yourself, or just living for the weekend, our music has something everyone can connect with.
Who are your musical inspirations?
This is of course a mixed bag across the band, but I would say our main influences would be Courteeners, Arctic Monkeys, Blossoms, The Wombats.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Noel Gallagher in Brussels 2016.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Courteeners - Pink Cactus Café.
Favourite lyric of all time?
This has to be Courteeners’ Bide Your Time - "It won't be long before a sarong is lying on your bedroom floor."
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.
Where can people find your music/more information?
You can listen to our music on all streaming platforms, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, YouTube etc and on all social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, X.
