Speaking about the new album, the band say, "Our goal with Hiraeth is to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage open communication.
"We hope to use our music as a platform to show listeners that they are not alone in their struggles and that there is always someone who understands how they feel."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I've been playing guitar for about 15 years; we have been playing in bands together now for over 10 years and I’m also a bit of a music theory nerd and teach it at a college up in the Northeast of England.
How would you describe your music?
I would describe our music as reflective, anthemic and also a bit sad! It is full of low-tuned riffs but resolves nicely into catchy chorus.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Inspiration in terms of the music we create definitely comes from the likes of Like Moths to Flames, Architects and Counterparts. If we want to go a bit deeper I would say my own personal influences are John Mayer and Dallas Green.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Busted in 2004 but saying that I was only eight, haha. First one I went to without adult supervision was Papa Roach, Heaven’s Basement and Madina Lake in 2009. Banging line up!
What was the first record you ever bought?
Linkin Park: Hybrid Theory and Meteora, bought them on the same day.
What's your favourite song right now?
Ooo, either False Dawn by Holding Absence or Left Behind by The Plot in You. The vocals are on point in both of these.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"I’ve always been dark, with light somewhere in the distance" - City and Colour (Two Coins)
If You could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?
John Mayer - Neon.
Where can people find your music?
