In Loving Memory of Anita Elena Vohar

Anita Elena Vohar, age 52, of Rittman, formerly of Ashland, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 31, 2024, at University Hospital in Parma, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with illness.

Born on October 22, 1972, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Anita was the cherished daughter of Alexander Gregory and Diane (nee Drass) Karther. Her warm spirit and caring nature touched the lives of everyone around her.

Anita was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School, Class of 1990, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in business and communications from the University of Akron in 2000. She dedicated her career to marketing in the home health care and nursing home industries, where her compassion for the elderly truly shone. Anita worked tirelessly to ensure that her clients received the best care possible, always advocating for their needs with a kind heart and an unwavering commitment to improving their quality of life. Her professional achievements were matched only by her profound empathy and respect for those she served.

Beyond her professional life, Anita’s passions ran deep, particularly her love for horses and equestrian activities. From a young age, she was captivated by these majestic animals, and her lifelong involvement in horseback riding and caring for them brought her immense joy. The bond she shared with horses was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and her love of nature, which she expressed in many ways—whether it was through tending her flower gardens or filling her bird feeders, creating a sanctuary for wildlife around her.

Anita was an active member of Milton Presbyterian Church, where she found joy in volunteering and contributing to her community. Her creativity blossomed through her love of sewing and embroidery, creating beautiful pieces that brought warmth and beauty to those she loved.

Anita is survived by her devoted parents, Alex and Diane Karther of Ashland; and her beloved sister, Katrina (Matthew) Heslop-Karther. Her family will forever hold her memory close, cherishing the love and laughter she brought into their lives.

A celebration of Anita’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Reverend Kevin McClain and Reverend Alex Barnes presiding. Interment will follow at the Ashland Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church.
