Phil S. Clark, 73
Phil S. Clark, 73 of Ashland passed away early Thursday morning, October 24, 2024 in the Wasen Rehabilitation Center at Brethren Care Village after a short illness. The family wishes to thank both the nursing staff and aides for the care and compassion they provided to him at Brethren Care.
He was born on April 13, 1951 in Ashland, the son of the late Gailord Clark and Norma Jean (nee Motter) Hartsel-Johnson.
Phil has been a lifelong resident of Ashland County.
He graduated from Mapleton High School, Class of 1970. Phil retired after more than 26 years of service from Abbott Laboratories in 1992.
He married the former Jennifer Beebe on June 13, 1994.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed vacationing in Michigan with his wife and traveling around the lakeshore at Lake Erie with his family, especially his grandchildren. Phil loved nature and enjoyed sitting on the patio watching and feeding the birds and chipmunks, all the while listening to his favorite bands of the 1970’s.
His hobbies were collecting old toys, woodworking, and restoring cars. He enjoyed going to car shows and showing off his 1974 AMC Javelin.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mrs. Jennifer Clark of Ashland; his children, Michelle Orrell, Kevin (Misty Owens) Clark, Randy (Michelle) Hall, Russell (Sarah) Hall; grandchildren, Brooke-Lynn (Lucas) Olsen, and Reed and Reagan Hall; five great grandchildren; his siblings, Donavan (Lori) Hartsel, Mark Hartsel, Jody Hartsel, Keith Hartsel, and Jeanna Glenn; a brother-in-law, Gerald M. Beebe; and a sister-in-law, Gail M. (Scott) Lochmandy.
In addition to his parents, Phil is preceded in death by a son, Ryan Hall; two brothers, Ricky Clark and Greg Hartsel; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Mary Beebe.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery with a meal and time of fellowship in the Legacy Room to follow. Friends may call prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
