Lester A. Dewalt, age 82, of Galion passed away Tuesday October 22, 2024 at his home.
Born December 16, 1941 in Galion, he was the son of Lester and Lenora (Weldon) Dewalt. He married Donna Cork on March 28, 1971 and she preceded him in death.
Lester was a welder at Galion Iron Works and retired after working 29 years. He enjoyed working on cars, building models, taking care of his lawn, water skiing and rooting for the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. In his younger years he was an avid motorcyclist.
He is survived by his children: Lester D. (Karen) Dewalt, Melissa (David) Baker and Steve Lombardo, six grandchildren: Lester H., Jamie, Abigail, Allysa, and Zach Dewalt and Alex (Chase) Towery, brother Walter Stevens and sister Cecil Casto as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son Scotty Dewalt, brothers: Ronald, Donald, and Richard Dewalt and sisters, Hester Simmermacher and Betty Schumate.
The family plans to have a celebration of life at a later date.
