Scott Edward Sharrock, 79 of Lexington passed away August 15, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born May 8, 1945 in Mansfield to the late Lester and Marian (Keller) Sharrock, and lived his entire life in the Richland County Area.

Scott was a strong Christian influence and a pillar in our community. He lived life to its fullest and made sure he gave praise to Lord Jesus Christ for all he had in his life. He had such a generosity about him and always knew how to help, whether it was a church mission, a need in the community, a financially struggling family, or a local organization just to name a few, Scott was always at the ready to help. He was a good friend, honest, and faithful in his endeavors. He provided sponsorship to many local, state and national organizations and churches, and the Special Olympics held a special place in his heart. He worked countless hours with the summertime Christian ALIVE Festival, and the Bill Glass Prison Ministries. Scott attended Crossroads Community Church with his wife but was associated with many different churches in the area.

Many will remember Scott from his over forty years of service as a State Farm Agent in Lexington. His agency attained many major awards and accomplishments over the years. His agency also brought the customer appreciation picnic to the square in Lexington for many years, an event he was extremely honored to do for the community he loved. Prior to State Farm, Scott worked for John Hancock Insurance, and Goodyear Tire.

His successfulness was rooted deep in his people skills, Scott could talk with anyone. He never met a stranger and he could network like no other. He thoroughly enjoyed bringing people together and fellowshipping even in business.

Scott had a keen eye for specialty vehicles. He loved owning muscle cars, hotrods, and fine automobiles and motorcycles. He could wheel and deal in any business venture, and acquired quite a few impressive vehicles over his lifetime. He even raced cars and motorcycle up until his later years. Owning specialty vehicles made it natural for him to be involved in local cruise in’s where he met other like minded people and could talk for hours.

Surviving is his wife of seventeen years, Karen (Freiheit) Sharrock; his three grandchildren, Matthew (Makayla) Sharrock, Madison Sharrock, and Courtney (David) Roach; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Presley, and Kady; three step-children, Kelly (Todd) Spangler, Craig Shrewsberry, and Adam (Kim) Shrewsberry; many step-grandchildren; a brother, Dave (Doris) Sharrock; his sister, Marge Leonard; a brother in law, Larry Evans; three sisters in law, Sandi Lesch, Sue (Dave) Messmore, and Cathy (Dale) Squires; and many very close friends.
