How To Create a Travel Gallery Wall
In this age of digital photography, it’s so easy to come home with a camera roll full of beautiful photos from every single trip. (Even just a trip to the grocery store, LOL)
The post-vacation glow is one of the huge benefits of traveling, and you can keep the wanderlust way of life going by surrounding yourself with a perfect gallery wall of happy travel memories.
To make your very own travel gallery wall, you need just a little inspiration and a few decoration elements. Once you’ve gathered all of these elements, follow these tips for creating a gallery wall, then hang all those frames and shelves quickly using this easy trick.

Photos
Pics or it didn’t happen! Start your travel gallery wall with photos. Just grab a few frames (a gallery wall frame set makes it easy) or print up a few photo tiles or canvas prints of your favorite photos.
If you have more photos (or not enough wall space) – a digital photo frame is a great way to include ALL your photos in your travel gallery wall, without needing museum-sized walls.
Worried about your photos looking good together? Use filters to give photos similar tones to look more cohesive in your wall decor. Enhance the gorgeous colors of the images, or it’s hard to go wrong with classic black and white.
Maps
If you don’t have a push pin map, do you even travel? 😉 Printed maps are getting harder to find now that everyone is using apps, but I still love picking up a map or brochure from our favorite destinations.
You can use the maps as a wallpaper behind your travel gallery wall, or choose one small section to frame to highlight your favourite travel destinations. You could also use a small wall bin like these to hold the maps and brochures if you don’t want to hang them or trim them.
Vintage Travel Posters
A travel gallery wall full of framed vintage travel posters makes a great statement in a living room, basement family room, or along the stairs. Whether you’re traveling the national parks of the USA and Canada, or traveling further afield to destinations like Australia, Finland, or New Zealand, you can highlight your travel dreams and those you’ve checked off the list. Buy a full set of inexpensive vintage travel poster prints, get a digital download to print yourself, or select exactly what you want in a high-quality print.
Souvenirs
All true adventure enthusiasts have at least a few souvenirs! Whether you’re collecting locally made jewelry or artwork or inexpensive postcards and beautiful seashells, you can incorporate your favorite souvenirs into your travel gallery wall. A small floating shelf (or build yourself a larger one) is perfect for displaying figurines, rocks, seashells, and other 3D souvenirs. Postcards can be framed, hung right on the wall, or added to a photo display.
