Waldo Stephen Trott Sr.

SACO – “Wally”, 86, passed away peacefully on Oct. 9, 2023, and has finally gone home to be with his wife, Marie, once again. They raised nine wonderful “brats” and were very proud of them all, Justina, Diana, Rosa, Waldo Jr., Linda, Sandra, Timothy, Barbara and John.

Wally worked for the school department most of his life, as a janitor, plow driver, maintenance man, and answering alarm calls in the middle of the night. All those years of work gave him many stories to pass along to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. How he loved to relive those years.

Wally lived most of his life on Munjoy Hill and for many years could be seen driving his grandchildren around in his little motorbike and sidecar. He was a very happy soul who would carry on a conversation with everyone he met, and often be gone hours just talking to friends.

Wally also loved the C.B. radio and spent many years on the CB circle as “the Spaghetti Bender”. He loved to watch NASCAR races and going to Beechridge Speedway. At times he would be so loud yelling at the TV watching the races, you had to wonder what was going on.

His house was always filled with people as Marie took many lost souls in as her own and they became part of the family. Very rarely was Wally without his hat, summer, winter didn’t matter, he wore a winter hat year round and his kids often joked of it, Wally also, as it was a part of him!

Waldo came from a large Italian family that was raised on India Street and the surrounding areas.

He was predeceased by his brothers Fred, Jimmy, and Tommy and survived by sisters and brothers Mary, Doris, Kathy, John, Barbara and Louis.

Wally loved people and will be laid to rest on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. Fitting, as this was Marie’s birthday and he loved her very dearly. A celebration of his life will follow at his home at 446 Buxton Rd. in Saco. Please wear a hat in honor of Wally.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at http://www.jonesrichandbarnes.com for the Trott family.
