Fortnite’s seasonal Halloween event, Fortnitemares, is coming on Friday, October 11, bringing a smattering of spooky-themed tricks and treats to the battle royale. While details are light thus far on what comprises the event, we at least know (generally) when it’ll launch.

Here’s when the Fortnitemares event will start in Fortnite based on your time, and a little bit of what to expect.

What time does Fortnitemares 2024 launch in your time zone?

Epic has given an official launch date of Friday, October 11, for this year’s Fortnitemares event. There’s no official time announced yet, but these updates tend to follow a pretty predictable schedule. There probably won’t be a huge amount of downtime, so watch for the update to drop around the following depending on your time zone, based on previous Fortnite events:

  • 8 p.m. - 12 a.m. PDT on Oct. 10 for the west coast of North America
  • 11 p.m. on Oct. 10 - 3 a.m. EDT on Oct. 11 for the east coast of North America
  • 4 a.m. - 8 a.m. BST on Oct. 11 for the U.K.
  • 5 a.m. - 9 a.m. CEST on Oct. 11 for western Europe/Paris
  • 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. JST on. Oct. 11 on Japan/Tokyo
  • 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. AEST on Oct. 11 for Australia

What to expect in Fortnitmares 2024

Fortnitemare events historically include skins, weapons, modified POIs, and even new mechanics. Most of that hasn’t been confirmed for the 2024 event, but some skins are already available or were confirmed via the announcement trailer.

  • Shadow Monks, a dark-themed reskin of the sock monkey skin is already available.
  • The Saw franchise’s Billy the Puppet is also available now along with the Perilous Puppet Bundle that includes back bling, a pickaxe, and emote.

From the trailer, we can also see:

  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface
  • Marvel’s Mephisto (which fits this season’s Marvel theme)
  • An as-of-yet-unnamed witch

Other skins have been rumored or leaked like some Disney villains or other spooky Marvel characters. None of the updated POIs or new game mechanics have been confirmed yet.

Update (Oct. 10): Epic has officially teased skins for Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas along with an unnamed scarecrow that will be available in the shop along with Fortnitemares on Oct. 11. In the background, you can also see a pumpkin patch-themed POI.
