Microsoft Flight Simulator isn’t known for its in-depth characters or compelling storylines. You fly realistic airplanes from Point A to Point B on a life-sized Earth, and that’s all folks really want out of it at the end of the day. But the turbulence many Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 players are currently experiencing during its rough launch has introduced a compelling new personality to the series’ threadbare lore.
Red Error Guy is my favorite Microsoft Flight Simulator character
I expect a Fortnite crossover soon
Red Error Guy, as I’ve dubbed him, is just what he sounds like. He’s a guy, he’s red, and he holds a big “ERROR” sign. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 players are becoming very familiar with Red Error Guy thanks to launch issues leading him to show up whenever the servers fail to load an important asset. The addition of a new always-online component to this year’s installment combined with Microsoft Flight Simulator’s popularity means this problem crops up frequently.
But hey, at least Red Error Guy is having a good time. Look at that thumbs up!
Some players have even seen him multiplying.
Oh god, he’s in a plane now. That can’t be good.
“We are aware of user reports of long initial loading times into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024,” the official Microsoft Flight Simulator support account said on X (formerly Twitter). “With so many users initializing the sim concurrently, we have a large number of server requests. We are working to help resolve the issues as soon as possible.”
